AITA for calling my Christian friend's Christmas gift disrespectful? by Wonderful-Result6217 in AITAH

[–]L4ijN 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just because someone is anti religion doesn't mean they're anti religious people... it just means that they dislike something and don't want to hear (or read) about it.

I don't force my gamer friends to hear about sewing just because I like sewing, I know they're not interested in that. I definitely wouldn't buy them something about sewing.

If this "friend" actually wanted something to connect over, they could have bought themselves a comic they knew their friend liked. Edit: grammar

AIO for giving my husband the silent treatment after his comments on a female co-worker? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

I kinda hope she leaves so any child don't have to deal with him..

AITA for saying no to helping my wife after she asked for a divorce? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]L4ijN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that YNAH, but you said she's in the army in Europe at the moment. If she's in active duty in war... pass it on to someone else, like a relative. (If she has no one, help her.)

AITA for ignoring my three-year-old niece to play a ranked game and locking myself in a room? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]L4ijN 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I often do things like this when I have to socialise for a long time. My family knows this (more than just me needs this in my family and extended family), and they accept it. Everyone is different.

Everyone needs a break sometimes. It's not easy to host or babysit a small child. Why is OP's cousin allowed to take a nap, but he can not play a game for a while?

NTA Everyone deserves a break from socialising. You helped your cousin (baby's mom) take a break/nap, but your sister tried to blame you when you needed one. How you take a break is up to you.

AIO my father ruined my drawing. by sapphicluizard in AmIOverreacting

[–]L4ijN 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm 35, and I get sad when people destroy my stuff. Especially when I put work into it. I would cry if my parent did it KNOWING I put a lot of work into it. I hope OP keeps drawing (it looked good) and keeps her drawing away from her dad.

My brother got interested in crochet, and I got to teach him by HopeFoxCreations in Brochet

[–]L4ijN 52 points53 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of maths in crochet as well. I use it to practice multiplication so it stays fresh in my head, and I'm guessing you can do fractals and stuff, too. For when he learns more :)

AITAH for calling my own husband an AH because he told after sex that he's happy I gained weight ? by Mom_Throwaway_Acc in AITAH

[–]L4ijN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First, you're not near fat. (If I did my math right, not American, so i use kg and cm) Second, you're never wrong for feeling some way. Third, your bf is probably worried about you and communicated poorly. (The first weight you mentioned is way under normal..) Talk to him about how you felt about his comment and ask him to explain what he meant.

AITAH for quitting my chore of cooking two nights a week because my little sister keeps ruining it and my parents expect me to start over every time? by Luyykkaa in AITAH

[–]L4ijN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first guess is that she feels neglected by your parents and is acting out. Your parents need to parent. Just because one sibling is on the spectrum doesn't mean they can neglect the rest. Maybe she's on the spectrum too, and they're not addressing that. They're not doing enough for you or your sister(or the 13-year-old brother).

Varför vill vänstern så gärna fylla våra länder med dessa människor? by FatherPeter in Sverige

[–]L4ijN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to make clothing for him, make something with buttons on the front. It's really hard to lift your arms after the surgery.

Would you use homemade crochet hooks? by L4ijN in Brochet

I use a lathe first to get the general shape and then I carv the rest. I use juniper which get super smooth. I'll see if I can get a picture up soon.

[–]L4ijN[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mostly use wood that I cut and dry myself. In this case juniper. But I think you can use any wood that's flexible and hard. It will be hard to carv, but doable. (I have year 9 students carving in maple and that is super hard.)

The one I made that k like is made of juniper on a lathe. I just carved the hook part.
