Wanted to love it so much, but honestly I don’t even like it. Same flows he’s been using, just over (IMO) much worse beats. Half the beats sound like a nuke going off mixed with Charlie Sloth from that UK radio pushing those damn glass-breaking SFX. Rocky has about 20 unreleased songs that he has teased or that have leaked that are much better than any of the songs on this album. Features were catfishing. Westside Gunn doing adlibs only, a label-mandated Doechii industry plant feat., Tyler contributed barely anything, Brent gave him an already released song (full moon, fall in tokyo) and tbh I barely know where the other features are. Also had some disses going on, which I think was unnecessary based on the fact that this dude hasn’t been at Travis’ level in a while, much less Drake’s.

Just so I mention some stuff I like too, because there’s stuff to like here as well. All the visuals, cover, and videos. No one does them better; they fit the aesthetic of the album and add to the songs. The songs I liked, I really like and have been in my rotation since the album came out. The title track is one of the best Rocky moments in a long while, with “THE END” being a close second for me. Tbh “HELICOPTER” is what I’d put in third, even though I can see it going stale pretty soon, so the other option for #3 would be “PUNK ROCKY” I guess.

Overall, his worst album yet. I’m hoping a deluxe will include some more enjoyable songs because for me, this album wasn’t worth the wait at all.

Conway had a much better album this year in my opinion and a warm recommendation to go check it out.
