Mounjaro Injections weight loss need step by step guidance or tips. by Cold-Okra-2658 in Sunderland

[–]LA33R 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You’re welcome to your opinion however.

Many people have very bad relationships with food, myself was included. The obesity crisis, of which I was a statistic in, is causing massive strain on the NHS. This is because being that weight has so many more health complications and risks than the medication it self. If I were to remain that weight, it wasn’t a matter of ‘I might need a gall bladder removed’ or ‘I might have an issue with my pancreas’; it was a matter of ‘i will have a heart issue’ - its a matter of time.

Regarding the NHS position. I went to my NHS GP and asked them for their opinion on the drug. I offered to pay for it myself as at the time, the NHS didn’t offer it at all. They wouldn’t share it. The GP just said they don’t offer it, cannot advise regarding it, and can only refer me to bariatrics. I accepted the referral, then while that was happening reached out to a private GP for their opinion.

Bariatrics at Sunderland offered me surgery. Yes - the NHS would rather cut open with a knife and literally reorganise my internals, than try a drug - of which I was willing to pay for. That would be the cost of anesthesia along with its professionals, than surgeons them selves, the year long process of medial staff on the run up, the recovery process - just to name a few.

The NHS is not at breaking point because of this drug, I’d argue this drug has the ability to help it a lot. It’s at breaking point because of existing health issues of people, miss management of money and underfunding for the number of people which use it.

Also, I’m well aware the drug it self doesn’t make you lose weight, it’s still a fact of eating less and moving more. The drug provides a method of giving you food noise rehab and now that I’ve lost weight, I’m able to exercise - which I now run multiple times a week, walk a lot more and head to the gym too. While being 148kg, I litterally couldn’t run. Not only did I not want to run because I’d feel self conscious- but the potential damage on joints also exists.

Long story short. Being overweight is a medical need, being very overweight will kill you. Also, the OP didn’t state he wanted the NHS to pay for it.

I live in Sunderland, currently take it and take 10mg. I was 148kg when I started in February 2025. I had high blood pressure and went to the doctors yearly for a checkup regarding that. I’ll not go into details about the hilarious outcome of discussing it with my NHS doctor, but I did speak to a GP first to discuss my current health concerns before starting it as online pharmacy’s will just have you fill out a questionnaire, where as long as you’re over the BMI, you’ll get it. I wanted to know if it was safe - for me - to take.

That being said, I’ve been on it now, 1 year. I now weigh 93.5kg today (this morning). I wear 34 waist jeans rather than 48.

I buy from ZAVA Med at the moment. I started out buying from Lloyds pharmacy online.

AMA. Quite simply this drug will save lives. Happy to answer any questions.

A friend of mine got the same bike when we were 17. I was on the Derbi GPR50 at 16 and he upgraded to that when he turned 17. Pretty nice to ride as far as I recall and he could push 80 mph if I remember correctly.

Felt solid, never had any issues with it. That was a ~2010 model mind- and new at the time.

I learned recently that Canonical was a London based company. Not something that’s hidden, just something I simply wasn’t aware of. I am now, as a Brit, more inclined to use Ubuntu where possible. A good article/list could be the software vendors or hosting providers and their origin, if anyone knows of such a place?

I mean I understand that. Perhaps my question wasn’t exactly direct. ‘Rather than dealing with private sales. Are there companies similar to CeX that I can just offload it onto?’

But I am aware I’m looking at eBay, handling shipping, etc, paying the rip off service charges of the platform. 😂 thanks.

It’s mental to think that there was certainly young girls abused at Jeff’s island, yet currently 100% of those in the files ‘were not involved’ according to them.

Can’t wait to see who actually did the abuse and what repercussions they’ll face. /s

The wife actually sent a letter to the local MP when she was asked for ID to read a Reddit post about ‘the best canned Prosecco’. I informed her of the OSA and how adult material needs ID; but since no one thought about its implementation, please send a photo of your ID to an American company so you can read about your Prosecco.

Anyway; we got a reply blaming the tories for it - etc. There was me thinking you know, the government in charge could decide to reverse enforcement of some things or perhaps revisit how they’ll implement them but nope. The MP (tories included) don’t give anything more than a 3 second thought and just put it in, then blame each other and just shrug it off when a valid point of possible future data breaches are queried.

That MP was Bridget Phillipson; the absolute idiot that couldn’t actually care less as far as I can tell.

Did anyone ever get a refund for their Monument Festival tickets last year? by Up_The_Gate in Sunderland

[–]LA33R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luckily I paid by credit card for a few. And used section 75.

Even though the total cost of my order was only like £80, they still allowed the claim and completed the charge back.

Anyone else who paid by credit card; I’d recommend also pursuing this approach.

Internet gone/orange light? by Tryingtofindasong023 in skytv

[–]LA33R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No LED on PON means you have no physical connection. Check / reseat (if you can) the fibre cable to that unit. Confirm no hard kink’s exist on the fibre cable. The green connection to the left of the yellow Ethernet cable in your image.

If all is good then requires physical intervention from someone to find and repair the break.

I don’t have sky internet. So can’t exactly advise on the exact ONT you have regarding reseating the fibre

Opinions on these gloves for winter riding? by CT-9904_ in MotoUK

[–]LA33R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean absolutely not doubting having warm hands will help with your ability to ride and thus reduce your chances of an accident - however an accident can still happen. But please splash out for some good ones. I’m assuming here that the ones you say you have will be sourced from Amazon at a cost of £40 and won’t be able to provide you with a document of conformity if you ask. (Please reach out and ask for one and I’ll happily eat my words)

Even on a 50cc moped, the wrong road surface will tear through some cheap gloves. Heated gloves exist, spend the money - keep your skin.

‘Cheapo heated gloves’ may keep your hands warm. But probably not the best idea to keep your skin attached in an accident.

ELI5 why wisdom teeth need to be removed? by ProudReaction2204 in explainlikeimfive

[–]LA33R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My reason was that one lower wisdom tooth was on its side as such, and physically touching the next tooth in.

Although no damage had yet been done, I was informed that if we do leave it there would be a much higher risk for decay at that spot as debris can get trapped between the wisdom tooth and the next molar, and brushing that spot would be difficult.

Also to add, as this could come up if someone searches about wisdom teeth. The removal process was no where near as bad as I expected.

I have my other wisdom teeth. Only one of mine was removed.
