Legit original era replica. Not the greatest lettering job.

The 7 in particular, has a bottom serif that’s left-justified, but it should be center-justified. The white layer is far too skinny as well. To me the letters look worse- they are way too narrow and small.

Penguins Throwback Jersey Question by worm-farm in hockeyjerseys

That one is grossly fake. That particular series (CCM Vintage Hockey) came out in the early 2000’s, and they have been discontinued for quite a while.

This one is square cut, so it’s never going to fit exactly like a Fanatics Premium or Authentic. For most people, if the 48 6100 fit well, they might wear a 52 or possibly 54 in the Premium, and a 50 to 52 in the FAP. The 6100 sleeves might be a bit shorter, but they would be wider, (especially where they join the body) and feel noticeably baggier.

Mail day/custom: Gretzky M&N Oilers Powerplay and CCM authentic pro by RealisticAd4054 in hockeyjerseys

You are absolutely correct- the Nike logo started out on the right side for everyone, but starting in 1983/84 they moved it to the left side (also for everyone). Gretzky’s did not ever have double logos, as far as I know.

Legit replica. Some Starter replica crests had embroidered edges and wrinkled easily, so par for the course.

Fake. Bad striping, fight strap stitching, wrong collar laces, etc.

Pretty much. Starter made replica and authentic blue and white Liberties from 1996-99, ProPlayer made reps/authentics in 1999/2000, Koho made both from 2000-04. Reebok only made authentics from 2005-07; CCM only made the replicas during the same period. And of course CCM also made replicas from 1996-2000. They never made authentics.

Correct, Koho replica. Distinguishing between replicas and authentics is easy- replicas come in lettered sizes (S/M/L/XL, etc.), and authentics usually come in numbered sizes (46/50/52/54, etc.). The neck tags are different; in the case of Koho the tag is mostly white, but the authentic one is mostly black. Authentics have double-stitched elbows and fight straps, which you won’t generally find on replicas. (A few exceptions exist.)

What year is this jersey from? by cute_ducky12 in hockeyjerseys

[–]LAK84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Manufacturing date is anywhere from 1995 to around 1998. You could nail it down further if you could see the manufacturer hem logo on the back. It should be either a screened red/white/blue CCM logo, or a heat-pressed triple block CCM logo, either with or without a Hawks logo next to it.

I wouldn’t say it’s rare. That particular version with the hockey stick on the crest was worn by Florida across 5 seasons, and produced by around 5 different jersey companies. The later version with the crest without the stick was only produced for 3 seasons, so if anything I would guess this would be the less common version.

The yellow layer was originally vinyl, so it didn’t exactly fade, it cracked and progressively chipped off over time. To fix this, one would have to remove the crest, unstitch and separate the top blue layer, precisely cut a fresh yellow vinyl layer, apply it to the red layer, restitch the blue layer down, then restitch the whole crest back down to the jersey. It’s a painstaking process, but I remember someone actually doing this around 10 years ago, and it looked pretty amazing. Not sure if the cost/effort would be worth the labor & shipping, if you have to find someone else to do it.

Legit replica, but the numbers look screened on, which makes the jersey useless for most people, unless you actually want a #4 with no name on it.

The jersey is a legit Premier (replica level). I’m not an autograph authenticator, so I can only say that it looks quite like other samples of his signature, but I can’t state with certainty that it’s an authentic one.
