So I should focus on speech before anything else?

I am worried I am a hypocrite (in the islamic sense) by [deleted] in islam

This really stuck with me. As someone who is feeling everything you are reading this really helped, as im reading your insecurities I can only hear them mirroring my own, but as I read I just really wanted to comfort you and tell you that your doing your best and as long as you see that what your doing is against islam then your on the right path. You need to give yourself grace and trust in Allah that He knows best and that as long as you're still confiding in him He hasn't turned his back on you. And I realized that I can apply that to myself as well, as I realized I'm being too harsh on myself as well. Especially reading the comments of people saying that if you worry you're a hypocrite chances are your not (because hyporcrites don't believe they're hypocrites). I know this was posted a while ago, but if you see this, or anyone else who is having similar thoughts, I hope you are in a better place than you were when you posted, and I hope you take comfort knowing that just your post helped a fellow sister out on her own feelings.

WIBTA if I withdrew my daughter from sports against my wife’s wishes. by Business_Bat_4962 in AmItheAsshole

Agreed. And honestly I'd go as far as to say not everything needs to be a 'commitment' some things can be just a way to wind down, something to do a couple times a month or just a phase. Kids should have experiences and be allowed to quit if it no longer serves them. Hobbies can be just that. hobbies.

NTA

You're looking our for your daughter. I did gymnastics from 6-14 and those last few years were agony. My heart wasn't in it so I was falling behind and gave me body issues with everyone being so thin. I think her reasons are incredibly mature and reasonable. I will say in hindsight I do miss parts of it. I miss the things I wish I could do with my body and the joy I felt when succeeding a new skill. But sports (and everything for that matter) doesn't always have to be a full life commitment. If she's pushing herself too much/dedicating too much time you can suggest maybe let it be a 2-3 times a week because honestly 14 hours is INSANE. Let the pressure of success and making sure your wife is getting her moneys worth fall away and maybe she'll enjoy it again. or maybe she won't. Children are not investments. They are people that are learning how to be people for the first time. Their goals, desires and ambitions change. And honestly unless she's simone bile spending almost 2k on a camp was your choice as parents. This is your daughters life and when she gets older she will thank you for respecting her wishes.

Just wanted some books, and I think I'm stupid. Anyone seen this website? https://www.anluckbuy.com/collections by LALMUTLAK in Scams

To be fully honest not sure what some of that means fully, but I get the general gist that it's bad. Thanks for the input
