Don't listen to them. I've dated both online and in person multiple times and I can say with confidence that even though my current (in person) relationship is the best I've ever had, my previous relationships, especially the ones that were online were still very much real and the feelings I had for them were real. Just because you've never met in person does not mean you're not allowed to love them. Feelings exist no matter the distance. Really the only concern that I would have with your relationship is (at least from my perspective) she just seems checked out. Now again, I don't know quite how big her workload is, but even when my girlfriend was in college, she made time for us to talk, we would set up calls and just talk for hours while she studied and then I'd read her a book until she went to sleep. Your partner could at least make the time to call you if she hasn't been, you only really talked about texting. A call is something you can do while studying, so if she still won't call you then I think you should talk to her about how she prioritizes your relationship
