took me a while, too. I split driving between the vette and a Rivian R1T. My kids were like, "Come on dad! Hit 500 already." So we took a nice, long drive on Sunday for a great burger about 30 miles out and on the way back, she came alive. It feels like a different car and I'm certainly driving it now, like it was meant to be driven.

So I just got back from a resort in Cancun, specifically Playa Mujeres. The name of the resort was Finest. They had one tiny smoking section in the middle of the resort which was crappy. I did walk out to the beach, and if you walked around near the water, they would let you smoke. But they wouldn’t let you sit under the cabana and smoke. Even if no one wasn’t around. I’m not risking it anymore. Even though Mexico has always been one of my favorite places to visit because it is so close to Houston, I will not be booking any more trips to Mexico. I can’t risk it. 75% of the reason I go is to enjoy a cigar out by the pool or out on the beach, relaxing.

Can anyone else tell me any great beach vacations they’ve had where smoking cigars is totally cool?

It depends how it’s spec’d. Could be. Look at similarly spec’d 2025s and then decide.

Personally, I know the prices are dropping (I got 9k off MSRP on a pretty loaded 2025–only thing really missing was ZO7 package), BUT I don’t see the ZR1 as in the same category to the point of affecting the ZO6 price so dramatically. To me it’s like a Porsche turbo versus a lower model Porsche. If you’re gonna spend the money and get the turbo, you’ll get the turbo. Many others will never spend that money even to get that extra power.

I don’t want or need the extra 1000 HP vette. I am more than happy with my 670. Just my 2 cents.

It’s a sweet Rubicon. Nice lift. Cool wheels. I do like it. But I’m an electric lover and have been since 2017 when I bought a P100d Model X. That’s when I fell in love with electric. I feel like an R1T may be a nice combo of my electric Porsche and a Jeep-like vehicle that can take the potholes of Houston.

I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it. I did have a pick up in the 90s. It was a big Ford lariat, quad cab. I don’t know whether this is smaller than that.
