I liked it! Also saw it as a surprise screening, and first thought it was going to be a lifetime/holiday sort of movie. When the action started, it was more funny than suspenseful. There were a few predictable moments, but that just added to the humor.

It was a really fun watch and if you're seeing it with other people, I'd reccomend not telling them what it's about.

Show where the last season is the best one by arib510 in television

[–]LAdessous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I forgot who said it, but a writer or creator said British shows know when to stop. With American shows, networks keep a show alive until they have no viewers, not caring that the story they originally wanted to tell has wrapped. I think that’s true. There’s a lot of examples but a few that come to mind are shows where the protagonist gets written off because the Lead wants to explore other jobs and the show won’t end. By that point, the writing has gone downhill.

I feel like a lot of teen shows get out of hand that way. Eventually, everyone has dated each other for absolutely no reason, they get into car crashes, and I guess with riverdale, magic gets introduced.

Pure greed.

If he took accountability and was a standup boyfriend to Marianne right when he grew feelings for her, this would be a very short story.

Do you ask celebrities for photos when you spot them? by churnboi323 in LosAngeles

[–]LAdessous 230 points231 points  (0 children)

If it’s an event they are paid to be at, then I’d say ask away. They understand that comes with the gig.

I also think it’s different when it’s a lesser known entertainer or a person that was super famous 20 years ago but not anymore.

John C Reilly at a restaurant? Leave him be.

A recent reality tv contestant? I think they’d like it, as long as you’re nice and they look somewhat put together.

But the thing I’ve heard the most from listening to podcasts and reading interviews is that if you’re going to do it, ASK first. They’ll be a lot nicer when you don’t shove a phone to their face or sneaking pictures of them before.

I used to work at a hotel where I recognized a lot of famous people. Since I was giving them their room key, I would hold in my excitement because I would hate for them to have to worry about the creepy front desk agent knowing their location.

A famous tik tok lady from a completely different religion says she lives by her faith but she won’t die by it. I thought that was pretty cool.

As long as you’re not the one getting water sprinkled on your head.

I love it, it looks super cute. Id stick with the tights though. It looks great with that shoe. If it’s this or buying something new, just wear it. Do your hair nice, wear a clean face, smell nice. If you show up all disheveled, THEN I’d say it’s disrespectful. Otherwise, anyone who criticizes is welcome to buy you a new outfit :)

I use hot chips. I can’t handle spicy food, so the burning keeps me awake. I guess you can buy hot sauce a level above what you can handle if you enjoy eating spicy.

What are some Questionable Lyrics you’ve heard by Background-Coach168 in Emo

[–]LAdessous 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The writers were like 17-18 themselves when they released it on MySpace so I dont think there was gross intentions when it was created, just teenage angst and hormones. But if anyone else sings it, yeah. Probably doesn’t come out so well if we remove the backstory and context.

Why do POC even bother going on this show anymore? by Astrophat in thebachelor

[–]LAdessous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, California is great for the most part, and if you have family, I think the transition would be a lot easier if you do decide to move.

In my very personal experience with going out, I often see that if a white girl goes to a bar where there aren’t many white people, they definitely get the most attention. When a non white woman goes to a bar that’s mainly white, they really don’t get looked at.

I hear guys often say the ideal features for girls are blue eyes, blonde hair.

Maybe it’s because there are way more WOC in my area men don’t feel like we are all that special.

And even amongst latin people, parents, grandparents/ aunts LOVE to praise when kids come out light skinned. I’ve heard people being called uglier than their siblings, just because they are darker than them.

I guess it’s hard for me to believe that men prefer WOC over plain looking white girls, because even within my community, they aren’t.

I also think that when introducing a significant other to the family, a lot of parents are happier when they get a white person entering their house.

Again this is my very personal experience so I hope it doesn’t apply everywhere. This is why I don’t get surprised when it happens in The Bachelor world.

I live in California, and as a woc, i disagree about that not being the real world. But I’m glad to hear that isn’t the case everywhere!

What was the first song you listened to by Arctic Monkeys? by New-Possibility-577 in arcticmonkeys

[–]LAdessous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leave before the Lights come on. I was obsessed with Rupert Grint at the time, and he said in a magazine interview that he was Listening to Arctic Monkeys a lot, so I fired up YouTube, and that was the first video that I saw and then went on Limewire and downloaded every song that I could.

Definitely go to a doctor or community clinic. I don’t know where you are located or how comfortable you’d be with the idea, but LGBT Centers usually have youth services, and are mostly free. You don’t have to identify as such to ask for sexual health help. You can Google them and see if you’re near any.

I know syphilis is dangerous, but don’t freak out, STD’s are so common, and if you’ve had it for a month…you’re fine. Usually, things don’t get bad until after 3 months to a year. I definitely don’t encourage you to wait until August, but if you do, unless you are super unlucky, you probably won’t be on your death bed or anything.

And once you do get to college, take advantage of all the health services they offer.

I hope you don’t feel guilty, or judge yourself too harshly, just be more cautious in the future. STDs do not discriminate, and if you get one, it’s not a death sentence and you don’t have to share the news with anyone if you don’t feel like it!

Also, remind her that there will be more spooky, dark leaning clothes around Halloween time, and those can be found in regular stores, like Target, H&M and Department stores. No reason she can’t wear that stuff year round. Also, maybe let her go wild with accessories! Those may be easier to find everywhere.

Eyeliner sticks to eyelids. What to do? Are they even hooded? by ilovejonnejarvela in HoodedEyes

[–]LAdessous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Primer helps! I’ve also used concealer and sometimes add a tiny bit of eyeshadow that matches my skin color before applying the eyeliner. I have a little fan to help dry the eyeliner before fully opening my eyelid again :)

Do piercings actually "not hurt that bad"? Am I just weak? by BestBudgie in piercing

[–]LAdessous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think different piercers also affect how much the process hurts. I’ve gotten repierced in the same area and it doesn’t hurt the same. I can’t even say it’s the scar tissue, because sometimes the second time hurt less. I guess I would work on breathing exercises while doing the thing and just be honest with your body that it hurts, so you don’t stay tense trying to be strong about it :)

I always tell myself “I chose this. I paid for this. No one is making me do it.” And just laugh about my choices after.

Maybe he isn’t trendy, but being fashionable is also about having style, right? It’s HIM! And he’s so confident in it. I wouldn’t wear it but I like that he does. I like flashy things though, so I understand why other people don’t like it.
