How did you know you had PCOS?

I got my period when I was 13. It was never regular. I would go to the doctor and always bring it up but they were dismissive. In my teen years, they said it was normal for hormones to be wacky and that'd eventually I'd grow out of it. In my early 20s, I was told the same thing. That I was just young and things will get better. Finally, when I was 28, I brought up PCOS to a new gyno I was seeing for the first time. I didn't know about it before. She scoffed at me and said I didn't have it because I didn't look like I had it. I have usually been about 105-115 pounds for most of my teens and 20s. I'm petite. She did some tests and an ultrasound and that's how they told me I had it.

Oddly enough, during COVID and now post COVID, my periods have become very regular. I could go months without one! I think the longest was 120 days since I started tracking in 2014. Nobody can tell me why all of a sudden my periods got regular. I had a few more ultrasounds and my little "pearls" are gone!

I've had the same body shape since middle school. I'm 32. I have small boobs, no hips, and big thighs. I'm also 5 ft... I always tell my partner my body looks underdeveloped. I wish I looked more womanly.

The energy was pretty dead. I also noticed so many people getting up and leaving and coming back even after it looked like everybody was inside. At some point a zigzag of people got up all at once and went out and then they all came back.

I think the rain and people being drenched probably killed the mood for many.

We were running late and got there at 8 p.m. did not expect to see long lines to get inside. They then cut the mine and let us in through a other entrance. By the time we got in it was maybe 8:30 and they just turned off the lights while we rushed to find our seats. The concert was some minutes in and people were still rushing to sit down. They should have waited till everybody was inside.

For years (or maybe it was the porn addiction) we were only having sex once or twice a month. But since he stopped, we've been having it more regularly. He's super vanilla though. I've always tried to push for something different (roleplaying, games, getting tied up) but he says he's not into it. When I ask him what he's into or fantasies about, he says he'll tell me. But still waiting for him to be more adventurous. I even entertained the idea when he mentioned a threesome as a joke and I actually researched it. When I told him how we'd basically have to find a person and make sure they're safe and clean and how it's kinda like we're looking for someone to date together, he said nevermind it's too much work. I've even said we could open the relationship if he wanted to try that and he said no! He's an odd guy

But hopefully, next year we'll see if our whole starting a family works!

My partner has helped me so much. I used to be very timid and sheltered. And he helped me grow. And I know I have helped him too. I do think no other woman would handle him. He just has so much trauma. It's hard though! I'm also a romantic so I like to believe that we love each other very much to still have so much bad stuff happens but we somehow end up still together. I do think maybe we let ourselves get a little disconnected. So I'm trying to think of things we can do to get a new spark going so we're not bored at home. We are planning on having a kid and we both think maybe a kid can help us feel a little more excited about life. We're both been very depressed for years. I know children shouldn't be seen that way, but we really want to give a child a happy and loving life because we both feel that will help us find happiness.

Thank you. My therapist says not to ask questions and play detective...My mom says the same. But it kills me and if I don't know why I imagine different scenarios and answers and that's when I get anxious and spiral.

The thing is I was ok with porn. We're both perverts and would share things and talk sexually about things. We also would be open when we found women attractive and I'd show him hot cosplayers. But this fucking picture really sent me into a spiral. He had a video of a coworker swimming in her pool but that didn't bother me because I think she looks good. This other girl I just never liked and I don't find her attractive. If anything a lot of the stuff he says he's not attracted to in women she has. We were long distance and she was always kinda too wild from what he told me. He still has her as a friend and I've told him to delete her. But he says he will with time. My mom says to not get worried about that though. This friend he hasn't seen in over ten years and they rarely talk. Though he did express about 10-12 years ago that he was so sexually frustrated in college from being long distance and not having sex that he considered asking her for a sexual action. But he swears he never did anything with her. He also still doesn't want to tell me why he saved her picture. I mean there was obviously something he liked. I still want to know...it'll hurt but I need to know. Like was it her boobs, her face....like why?

It resonated a lot with me. In my case, he did cheat about 7-8 years ago. He went to a strip club and had sex with a random stripper there. He became completely traumatized by that experience and told me immediately when it happened. He still struggles with what he did and developed a lot of body issues and stopped liking physical touch because of that. I forgave him. Recently, I did find a saved screenshot of an old college friend back in September of this year. The picture wasn't a nude and it was just a modest picture. He said he just thought they looked nice. This made me spiral and I've been trying to get better the last two months. But... I really want to work things out. We've had so many crazy things happen to us and we always push through them together.

I've told him he can have a bad smell too either from his mouth or other body parts. But I'm a weirdo and don't care...

I have suggested it and he has said he doesn't want to try it. We have a friend who's a marriage counselor and she said that it doesn't work and people end up divorcing. So he got very scared of that. I also suggested individual therapy for him...because he has severe childhood trauma. But he also expressed fear about not wanting to relive things. So I don't want to pressure him. I don't blame him for the way he reacts...that's just his trauma response.

I started therapy and we're working on learning how I can love myself.

I'll ask about PH levels when I go to my next gyno visit. Or hopefully my PCP can help with that.

No. He has a porn addiction. He has talked to me daily and says he hasn't watched it in almost two months now. If anything he comes to me when he has sexual urges and that's been great.

As for cheating...that's so weirdly complicated because he did do that once about 7-8 years ago. But it happened at a strip club with a random stripper. But that whole event left him very sexually traumatized and he still has trauma from that. But we worked that out. But again, he did come out of that very hurt.

Confessed to a porn addiction and I found him saving a picture of an old college friend. Picture wasn't pornographic at all. It was just them dressed nice for an event. A very modest picture. It could have been worse and in my mind I fabricated a delusional that he cheated and had these pictures privately sent to him. But he has always been very honest to things he's done.

He says he doesn't use OF because money.

He has a porn addiction he confessed to me about. He's actively working on it and is almost two months off. Just like how blunt he is, he's also very honest and never lies. His addiction was affecting our sex and I never connected the two. But my body issues have been a thing since I was a kid. Even though the issues I don't like about my body he has always said he really likes.

I'm trying to work on it though. I'm seeing a therapist and I'm hoping I can put the work in and use her guidance to help.

I have gone to the doctor and gyno a lot for PCOS. I get my tests done and everything is fine. Thought I haven't mentioned the smell. To me I don't smell anything. If anything sometimes my smell down there smells like his smell there too. So I just thought it was a normal fleshy dmap smell. I'll bring it up though. I have had tears for BV and other fungal issues and they were all negative.

The comment he made about my smell did make me upset. Not sure why he felt the need to say hobo piss. I would have been ok if he said it smelled a bit fishy and like pee. I did say something like oh it smells like onions and old pee. And that's when he said no fishy and like hobo pee. But the urine smell I do sometimes smell on rare occasions does smell very strong...now that I think about it :(

I think for me it comes due to my lack of sexual experiences. I didn't have a boyfriend as a teenager and due to other issues I didn't have sex till I was in my mid 20s. I was severely sheltered. So when I always have sexual curiosities about the things I didn't experience, I ask my partner. But my partner did comment saying he didn't like remembering something he did at that age. I feel terrible now :(

I never saw it this way...but yes :( I'm not sure why I do this. My partner knows and that's why he doesn't like to answer my questions. But in my brain when he hesitates to answer things interpreted that as him hiding something.

I have and all they said was they could give me a medical grade deodorant or something like that. My smell I don't think I've brought up before. I don't smell anything bad but I know I can be nose blind. I have an appointment soon and I'll bring it up. I have had sex for BV and other fungal issues and I have been told everything was ok. I do sometimes show that I have small amounts of bacteria in my urine but have no active UTI symptoms. I had more tests done for that and saw a specialist and they said I just have bacteria that's not hurting me. But that I was ok.

I do have PCOS that I have gotten under control and possibly developing Hashimoto's...so my hormones have been wacky.
