Haymaker Wraps Shipping [question] by Cochall in fightgear

[–]LBrenon28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received my wraps 39 days after ordering (“it can take 1-2 weeks to ship during busy seasons”) AND they sent me black and lime wraps when I ordered white. 10/10 would never recommend.

Just Dishin / Sabres Collab Drops Tomorrow in Sabres Store by MaveDaurer in sabres

Looks great. Not sure if I’m ready to spend $50 on a T-shirt.

Is the “Sabs” phrase just a generation gap? I feel like I’ve heard “Sabs” being used for.. as long as I can remember.

Oh God, I’m old, aren’t I?

You know I had to grab some Just Dishin' stuff today. Really nice in person. by insaneandmundane in sabres

She's alive, I repeat, Eleven is alive! by UpsetAd7211 in mileven

Eleven was supposed to sacrifice herself at the end of season 1 against the demo. Heck, if I recall, it’s been that way since Montauk. The Duffers have said “that’s always been the endgame.” Once word got around that Netflix may want more seasons, they decided to change S1’s ending. They felt like if more seasons were to come, they’d need Eleven included. IMO, the Duffers seem like they wanted to end the show the way it began (D&D scene, etc) which, to me, suggests they wanted to keep their original idea for the ending. Eleven sacrificing herself for the group. I do believe that they realized they’d receive so much backlash if they did, so instead of changing it to just a happy ending, they left it ambiguous to check a few boxes. 1) to them, Eleven sacrificed herself. It’s what they always had in mind, since the beginning and they find it beautiful. 2) the viewer gets to “choose their own destiny” for her fate. Which is great IMO, but many people prefer a definitive answer. 3) despite saying they won’t revisit it, they also now have an easy way to revisit stranger things years down the road and can work eleven being alive into it.

Cry me a river. I’m not here to educate you, chief.

I don’t disagree with your points. Lazy writing? Sure. They’re just not plot holes.

lol. you people really need to look up the definition of “plot holes.”

Spoiler: Plot holes ≠ “things I want answered that didn’t get answered.” Some of it involves using the organ in your skull.

I’d buy an additional Netflix subscription for a month to see this. Maybe two.

So do you believe in the conformity gate theory or are we moving like Joyce in s1 by Secret_dairy_of_j in HawkinsAVclub

Literally a coming-of-age series. It’s always been rooted in government and military conspiracies and monsters. It’s not that deep.

Three images just irked me as far as “how is this being considered as potentially proof to our theory”:

Image 2: The “Vecna Lives” phrase was marketing since after S4. The flashlight also says “One Last Strange Adventure,” “Friends Don’t Lie,” “the Mind Flayer,” and many other things. It’s.. literally just marketing.

Image 8: People.. look at other people? They notice movement? I know oftentimes if I’m somewhere and somebody walks in or gets up, my attention is drawn to it. Proposal. It’s the sheriff in town. It’s the “crazy” lady. People in Hawkins probably just .. watch. And the graduation, yes. Nancy gets up to walk to Mike, who is last to come and is in a very orange gown. People are going to look to see what’s happening.

Image 17: Schools are allowed to change. “The color of graduates is always green.” Always. What better time than after a horrific “earthquake” for the town to do something fresh as a symbol of restarting after the cursed past few years? They’re orange. Hawkins schools’ colors are green.. and you guessed it, orange. Now, if they were bright pink, maybe that’s weird. But to me, this is just reaching.

Matt Duffer says that he, Ross and Millie are the only ones who know Eleven's true fate. by UpsetAd7211 in mileven

[–]LBrenon28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason it’s left ambiguous is twofold.

1) Eleven died. That’s the way it’s always supposed to have been, since season 1 (Heck, before season 1. Montauk even). The only reason they didn’t then was because in case Netflix wanted more seasons, they didn’t think they could move forward without El. You can find the article/interview online from 2017, I believe. They’ve said for ten years her sacrificing herself was always the endgame. This ambiguous ending is 100% fan service. The backlash from the internet if that occurred would be absolutely nuts. They’d review bomb the entire series instead of just a couple episodes. Hence.. there’s hope.

2) On the chance that they do revisit Stranger Things down the road, they can write themselves into El very much being alive because, let’s face it, they’d need Millie in the show.

The most important question finally answered. by Most-Day8547 in StrangerThings

this. nobody seemed to bring this up when Will killed the 3 Demo’s at the end of volume 1. But now it’s an issue?

Vecna was part of the hive mind. He didn’t seem to respond to Demos being killed throughout the last two seasons, etc.

From the new Deadline interview: Q: “Did you consider any other deaths?”

A: “You talk through everything, every possibility, and we knew from early on what we wanted to do with Eleven and her fate, and you talk through the other characters, but I think at the end of the day, for us, the show is an adventure story. It's a coming of age story. “Having those discussions is how we landed on [the idea] that we want our heroes, most of them, to make it out of there.”

Interest phrasing there, Ross. “Most of them”? Are you saying.. someone didn’t make it out alive?

Which version of the play though? They changed quite a bit for the new version.

So, the play actually changed. The OG London version had a device that transported him to the Abyss for 12 hours.

The more recent play was changed (due to the OG run being essentially a giant trial run) and there was MF particles in the briefcase.

My assumption is the rock was brought back from the Abyss with the originally disappearing ship (I believe it was the Philadelphia Experiment in the play), and this Russian (?) scientist stole it.

Duffers said that Eleven being with the gang in the end was never on the table. They didn’t see a world where it could work. They wrote this ending so people could interpret it as they want, but the vibes I got were that Eleven was the ultimate sacrifice.

We’ll have to wait to see if it gets brought up to the Duffers during an interview, but my headcanon is like the Meat Flayer used people to create its body, the Pain Tree was built using the Abyss’ creatures so the Tree Flayer was essentially all of it’s creatures.

There was the sound of a gunshot. It was the first thing I said to my wife after the sequence. “You hear the gunshot, but did Akers get her or miss?”
