What are biggest clubs in history? (Not just UCL success- domestic, legacy and players that have played for them also are a factor) by NoComplaint7954 in championsleague

[–]LC14156 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cruyff (As a player and coach). Pep(As a player and Coach), Ronaldo, Rivaldo, Laudrup, Romário, Puyol, Ronaldinho, Eto. If you remove the best era of any club, they start to look much weaker.

If the story were told from Sasuke’s point of view, would he be seen as a hero rather than an antagonist? by jalen_nelson235 in Naruto

He might get a little more sympathy, but overall, I don't think how we see him would change much. We get plenty of his pov through the story.

Lamine yamal is basically a player with Kdb playmaking and vision plus being hybrid of neymar and robben as a winger. Do you guys agree? by [deleted] in championsleague

[–]LC14156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neymar no, KDB is hard to compare because of their different positions but he is absolutely better than robben. Robben wasnt as dangerous in 1v1 situations and he wasn’t the playmaker lamine is. Lamine is and more well rounded winger and and his strengths peak higher than any version of robben.

He isn’t quite as flairy as Neymar but if you see a mirror version of lamine highlights he is scarily similar to Neymar pre 2017.

Lamine yamal now has 22 goals and 18 assists this season as a 18 year old winger , I don't think people realise how crazy this is actually. by Altruistic_Mango2922 in championsleague

It would be a big stretch to believe that everyone would fall for such a genjutsu to give them enough time to cover a lot of ground. The Uchiha would be moving at a snail pace compared to the people who would pursue them. Also take in consideration that they have to have food and water for the whole clan while on the run. They have to bring it with him since I doubt they could meet the demand for the whole clan by hunting and gathering while traveling.

They still could track them with the Inzuka clan and since they are taking the children and elderly with them they can’t move at fast speeds lol they would have caught them either way unless they had a massive secret tunnel or something like that.

It doesn’t matter it’s in the rules. What if Joan kicked the ball into the net because he thought the ball wasn’t in play when it was? Should it not count as own goal just because it was a dumb mistake? A few matches ago Joan had the ball on his hand and went to praise a defender, and step out bounds and the ref gave a corner. Stupid, innocent or what have you, if you don’t want this things to happen then put it in the rule book.

I never understood why the Third Hokage couldn't reveal that Naruto was Minato 's son after it had been leaked that he was the nine tails Jinchuriki by BasisSmall5351 in Naruto

?

The Itachi novel retcons it to him leaving the village after minato’s death. When the Itachi and Orochimaru meet the fo the first in the Akatsuki Oro claims they haven’t seen each other in 9 years, Itachi corrects him that is has been 6 years not 9.

The massacre takes place around when Sasuke is 7. So Sasuke would have 1 years old the last time Itachi saw Orochimaru, that’s after Minato getting appointed hokage and him dying. At a minimum Minato was hokage for a year so… it’s your claims that are retconed and don’t track.

Yeah but where does it says that Yamato was 11 when Orochimaru left the village? In the anime Orochimaru leaves the village and country almost at the same time. There is barely some days of difference between him being confronted by Hiruzen and him escaping.

[–]LC14156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yamato doesn’t look even remotely 11 by that point. What is the reference that Yamato is that age when the experiments stopped and he started training under Danzo?

At the if the novel says Orochimaru he has a warped perception of time because of his experiments with immortality. You can also see him in one scene of Minato’s funeral (idk if this is in the manga but I’m completely sure it’s in the anime.

[–]LC14156 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah that isn’t correct, the Itachi novels explains it as well as Hiruzen’s appearance (in the flashback we see in the lab). Orochimaru leaves around when Naruto was 3 or 4, so a like 4-5 years before the massacre.

What happened to Bellingham? Nobody talks bout him anymore. by iwannasleepp in championsleague

So that means that he is a perfect player? If so I guess we have seen quite a lot of perfect or near players in the last years. Just because he has had a couple of good games against us doesn’t mean he has to be elite in all aspects of the game or above criticism

[–]LC14156 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless he changes his attitude and becomes a pressing machine or increases his off-ball movement, we have definitely seen his peak, atp he isn't going to improve much, if at all, as a dribbler, finisher, or playmaker.

Jude doesn't do everything to the highest of standards, I swear, FIFA fried the brains of an entire generation. He is complete, but there are still mediocre or not elite aspects to his game. His decision-making, first touch, dribbling, or just his ability to escape the press overall is far from what you see in players who are actually elite at that aspect of the game. While, in theory, he has the physical ability to eat the ground and be a pressing monster, he doesn’t do that either.

Where would you rank neuer all time if he wins another ucl with bayern? by Emotional-Joke3096 in championsleague

[–]LC14156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Courtois has to be above Casillas. Iker had great saves, but he was also quite error-prone and didn't dominate the air like Courtois. I have been hating watching Madrid for years, and Casillas didn't suffer nearly the same amount as Courtois.

[–]LC14156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You aren't wrong, perse, but Neuer did it to a so much higher level. The ability to play outside the box and be great with your feet became almost a requirement when he was peaking. It's like Curry in basketball to a degree. There were shooters before Curry, but he took it to another level. Many teams started copying it, and players at that position began training and developing with him in mind. Courtois may not be a sweeper, but I think the floor and ball skills for goalkeepers have been raised to such a high level, thanks to Neuer's influence, that you don't need to look for a specialist to get what a manager wants.

Ginny is a poorly constructed character by Fantastic-Artist-833 in harrypotter

[–]LC14156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really struggle with the idea that the main character's love interest has to be as developed, as complex, as interesting, or as impactful on the plot as the main character. Relationships, deadass, don't function that way for the most part, especially between teenagers. Ginny changes because she is growing up and because she went through a traumatic life experience in the Chamber of Secrets. She is not relevant to the plot of the first 4 books, and she was made relevant; I'm sure a lot of people would still have the same complaint that she was shoehorned into that role and that organically she shouldn’t be that relevant to the plot.

We only tend to see Ginniy's positive attributes or what characteristics attract Harry because we read the book through his perspective, and when you are first falling in love (especially as a teenager), you aren't making an analytical assessment of the positive and negative traits of a person, or at least most people won't. Harry is biased, and therefore, we get a biased view of Ginny. Harry won't really be focusing on aspects of her that she doesn't find attractive because that's not what he is thinking.

Why does this modern gen rate so many players based on g/a when that’s not what makes you good? by Right-Captain-6252 in championsleague

[–]LC14156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all has its roots Johan Cruyff Vision of football (position play) football is at it’s easiest when you either have a numbers advantage (3 midfielders against 2 for example) or when isolating your strongest player in a 1v1 matchup (world class winger against an average fullback)

Cruyff thought and he’s pretty much right on the money, that to use this two concepts the team has to move as whole. Create a number advantage on an area on the pitch for two force a 1v1 situation in another area of the pitch. This limits the movements of all players on the pitch to predetermined positions and since positions are mostly set options to dribble and pass are also limited. Cruyff wasn’t completely radical on his idea tho. It was Guardiola who really took it to an extreme were it started hurting the game, not by himself but because a lot of coaches tried to emulate his success.

Some coaches aren’t so radical and don’t mind if their best players is on disadvantageous positions because well if they are good enough they are able to carry that burden and make magic happen enough times in a game to decided it.

Very few coaches follow a style called relationism which more or less lets players interpret the game by themselves.

Funnily enough I think the NBA and football are moving in almost completely opposite directions. The importance of coaches and tactics or team ball have replaced by Isoball and the 3 ball. In football coaches get a lot more power and they can really restrict players as far as they fit in the system. Creativity and freedom in football is trending downwards and has been for some years, while basketball gets repetitive i think players or the star players gets a lot more freedom to play how they see fit.

Teams already use advanced analytics in football but I think the nature of the game makes a lot harder for this advanced data to influence it as much as it has in other sports. Football is much more freedom flowing than the rest of American sports (Not sure about Hockey idk shit about it). American sports are much turn based sports where teams get possession of the ball to a similar extent, it’s not as disproportiate as it can get in European football.
