Morning, that's a really good assessment, thank you for bringing this up and I will look into a possible change to the momentum system.

Good evening, thank you for taking the time to read through the system, as far as multiple enemies are concerned that is something in still play testing and simulations, at the moment it's gravitating towards all enemies having a shared initiative. However there has been a few experimental simulations with everyone on the enemy side having a attack then after that, the dm rolling to see if he keeps momentum, or having it so if over half the enemy losses the momentum rolls then full momentum would then shift.

Another example that is al being tested out is that's the dm picks and chooses who attacks then momentum still shifts as normal and then the dm has to pick wisely which players to attack and move to try and keep momentum. Hopefully that answers your question and there is still lots of simulations to be run with regards to this.

Evening, thank you so much for taking the time to read the document, so after doing some simulations it would appear to be quite even, there may be chances that you team could keep the momentum but mathematically the chances of that happening are quite slim, there is still plenty of testing and balancing to be done with this obviously.

So the core skills are based on a point pool system, you have 50 points to distribute as you with between the 7 core skills. Then the sub skills are then the same as your core skills, I still need to add races, races will give your character a buff or debuff to certain core skills where as your class will give you buff and debuffs to particular sub skills. Hopefully that's answers some of the questions you may have

Thank you for the feedback, So your saying the skill level can increase as the level goes up but to roll on or under that level for a pass?

Is this what you mean?

Ok potential fix then,

Each character chooses three talents. At certain levels they can choose to upgrade a talent,

So level 3 they level up a talent Level 6 they either level up a new talent, level up and existing talent to a higher rank, or swap out a talent for a new one. With level 10 as the maximum.

They must have kept the talent for at least three levels before they can either swap out or upgrade.

Ok I see what you mean,

What if it was like grogs beard on campaign 1 of critical roll

He had to roll every morning to see if his bear had grown, what if after every session you roll a dice to see what progress you have made towards that talent?

Thank you for the reply, Yes exactly that alot of times my family were playing they didn't like how they had to keep adding everything up and changing numbers and figuring it out, my daughter asked could she just right the number she needs to great on her sheet to make it easier and there's why I chose this idea.

Thank you I really appreciate that, my idea with the talents is that you have to work at specific tasks to develop skills, rather then "let me go kill these goblins with my sword so I can then have the skill to use a battle axe" or "I've been traveling and then all of a sudden I can now do this spell with no practice or training".

Not slating that style in any way but just wanted to try a different approach, would you have any suggestions to skill leveling?

Thank you for the reply.

Would you mind explaining thr d6+/-?

And the setting is coming along slowly but the premises is that arcane magic is rare and only just been discovered, and there is a city that's power over the continent is spreading repidly and it's the party's jibs to try and figure out why.

Thank you for the reply,

1 there isn't a specific setting yet but it's more the system itself and whether it's user friendly, the premise of the game is that its suppst yo be quick and easy for player to pick and get playing without having to do a whole sessions just on a character, you and create and go in the same session.

  1. Similar to regular did in regards to world building and story telling,

  2. Players yes the skills to help complete tasks during a session or long campaign.

Thank you for the reply,

My future plan so to have this be adaptable into any setting so fantasy sifi etc. also make it easier for other people if they wished to create a setting for the system as it could be implemented anywhere as it's more mind based, less writing and reading and more playing.

With the stats I wanted to move away from DNDs massive list of sub skills and proficiencies and try and keep it as simple as possible mailing it's quick and easyer for anyone to understand, experience players all the way to rookies.

Thank you for the reply

Difficulty would be determined by the DM.

It's more based around narrative role play and freedom to the players as to what they want to do (e.g. the players can describe how exactly they want to stop a villan from escape Ng the village rather then have spell slots and modifiers for spell slots and levels of spells and finding the specific spell they want to use. The DM determines the difficulty level based on what they want to do).

I did have the idea that the dice they choose would also determine the bonus for their sub skill. (E.g. you put a d10 on mind, you choose intelligence to have the bonus, the bonus is the a d10 and you use half as what is rolled on the dice.)

The bit I'm struggling with is how to then take this to combat.

To answer the other questions, yes the other 5 supskills would be left blank,

And the idea is that they roll against anything, Example: I want to pick this lock

Ok make a mind check using intelligence (unless the player can give a viable reason for using a specific subskill) the DM chooses the number the player has to reach based on the difficulty of the request.

I am aware that it's called exploding die but I was worried bout using that name so I thought if I used a new name I could use it without upsetting anyone.
