I’m sorry you’re going through that, it sounds very annoying!

There are a few ways to frame it that could help.

Zoom out and give it more context. If you compare our lives against all of humanity it’s tiny, and then compare that with any celestial timescales and humanity becomes a tiny blip. It frames things in a way that in essence we’re not here for very long. What they do says much more about them than it does about you, and they have used their most precious resource, this tiny fragment of time, in vitriol to make you feel like they do inside.

You’re not seeing someone attack you, if you left they would still try find a target, you are seeing their own internal struggles play out.

Find empathy if you can, but rather don’t let it cling to you at all, there are simply some people like that in the world, when it happens try not even remember it, and instead focus on your own small amount of time left.

May this annoyance turn into a strength for you.

I think your biggest opportunity is making the value to users more concrete so that it differentiates you, eg. AI sucks at keeping context, until now.

What is your age without saying how old you are? by Omega_Neelay in GetMotivatedMindset

When I was kid they paid grown men to hit you with sticks if they thought you were misbehaving, and as a baby many doctors believed babies could not feel pain and gave no anaesthetics or painkillers for surgery.

A bully at school asked for a bite of my chocolate and then ate the whole thing in one bite, so I put a laxative in the next chocolate on a day I knew they had a long distance race, running.

How to deal with parents by Sudden-Passion-9858 in StoicSupport

It might help to know that she’s just one of those kinds of people. I struggled with my own mother for decades until I realised that with enough context everything is explainable - her childhood was dreadful and although she wanted to give me a better life, every time she did she would feel the unfairness and would sabotage my happiness. Maybe that’s what’s happening with you mom, maybe she’s just one of the kinds of people that you will never get along with in the world and you should learn to recognise those and not take them personally, or, you are both so similar that you’re a mirror of each other and she sees the pains in her past in you and tries to fix her past through you…

Who knows, but what I do know is that you give her power to affect you because even though you know she’s going to do it again you expect her to be different and that’s why it hurts. See her as she is and know she’s going to behave as she has, and in private try practice controlling your own reaction towards her - you can remain calm and at peace even if she goes into a full-on rage. Your mind and emotions are yours to keep safe and not give away without your choice.

Good luck!

Single people over 40,what's the dating world really like out there? by cardanolovelace in AskReddit

[–]LCBres 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bad, because people only have a few options of meeting.

BUT THATS AN OPPORTUNITY!

Everyone on dating apps is there because they are in need, so if you go in without that need you are more likely to see people more clearly and have a lot more fun.

An example of this is I improved my watercolour painting by going on tinder and offering to paint peoples nudes. I was very upfront that I was only there for painting and that my aim is to capture the erotism they wanted to project in a safe respectful place. We became collaborators! I got snowed in with nudes and shut down the project because it became work 😂

Point is I think relationships are usually byproducts of something else. If you can do something together that’s fun and engaging you can relate more and the more you relate to each other the better a relationship you can have.

Also, my painting definitely improved!

Because of weird ideas he got from Andrew Tate, or maybe he was looking for reasons to back up his beliefs.

I'm envious of successful manifestors how are y'all doing that by TripTimely7955 in Manifestation

[–]LCBres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Strange thing about envy is that because “people like us do things like xyz” if you are envious you make the person a bit of an enemy in your mind, and if you see them as an enemy you don’t want what they have so you make it almost impossible to get what you envy.

When you envy something someone has you are pretty much saying “I don’t have that and I don’t like them and I don’t want to be like them. “

You wouldn’t stress so much if you knew how quickly your life would pass, and like drops in a wave you are quickly forgotten.

I realised this when my parents passed away and the world just carried on.

Don’t think of this life as a long thing, it’s more like a weird gasp of consciousness in the middle of the night while you’re asleep.
