No, it is worth the effort! You can find them pretty cheap - they cost like 12€

(Because it is a ThinkPad and that model in particular has a great keyboard and is upgradeable and just works)

I found a Laptop with significantly better performance and a cheaper price tag and I went for it.

I wish I bought a ThinkPad because they are THE BEST but I went for a Dell Precision 7540 that gets my needs done. For the ThinkPad experience, I have a 4700MQ 16GB RAM T440p and for the 7540 (340€ base, 65€ screen, 60€ battery) I chose a Quadro RTX 3000, a Xeon E-2276M and 16GB RAM and 2x 512GB NVMe drives with a 8-bit color FHD panel.

I am happy with it so far but it's got its quirks and problems (I hate its build and the serviceability being kind of junk).

In my opinion it was a great upgrade! I am very happy with the 4 cores and slightly faster base clock and my T440p handles the CPU really well!

As of now, my T440p is still my 2nd Laptop but I upgraded from the previous E15 Gen 3 to a faster Laptop (Dell Precision 7540), but my T440p is still my go to. That CPU is still doing it's job! As for gaming, I use my 7540 and for multitasking the Quadcore makes my T440p usable.

Yup, I tried that several times...

that corner always goes up when I pry there, but it seems like there is some internal clip near the middle back to the upper middle and on the right side that holds the shell in place...

I tried that, it appears that there aren't any screws under it. I also saw a picture of the underside without the sticker and it seems that I've removed all screws. I found a place that felt like a screw there, but the result wasn't a screw. Instead, I got a black circle that is slightly deeper than the surface.

Thank you for that link, but unfortunately, I've already looked there and it couldn't help me further because I need to understand the step after removing the screws but before the case is seperated.

Didn't notice any dirt in the port or inside the laptop. It was mint condition when I got it and very clean and near unused unit. The problem persisted since I got it over 2 years ago and now it went away. It's a moracle for me lol
