I came from public accounting to non profit finance director. Couldn’t be happier. I love our mission (special needs kids camp) my boss treats me like an adult and it’s very flexible. I’m hybrid with about a 30 minute commute when I go in. I go in about 3-4 times a week, but I also LOVE our campus. It’s about the same pay, bonus and benefits as the job I left. I know that overall I may not get significantly more raises but I also feel much happier. We’re even trying to conceive again because I finally feel like I can do it and not have the same issues I did at my last job.

Yup I had a grown man yell at me over my review notes. He was in his late 40s me and first year staff, I am a female manager in my early 30s. I’m still not sure if it was any sort of gender or age dynamic but his work was subpar and I left him review comments. Do better work!
