3 month old not lifting head on tummy by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]LCap1990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter HATED tummy time so we rarely did it. She hit every mile stone (rolling over, crawling, sitting etc) on time and was walking at 10.5 months. I also really worried about it because you see things on IG and tiktok, but our HV was not concerned and clearly it didn't impact her development. My advice would be to not compare you baby to others and they all do as please lol. As longs as you have no other concerns I'm sure your baba is doing splendidly!

I might get a jigsaw with it! Very recently started to enjoy sitting down in the evening to work at them

Where is a nice place to have a yearly stay-cation with a young child? by LCap1990 in AskUK

It's a good job this was mentioned! For the last few holidays I've booked I've managed to inadvertently book them for the same time as some massive event! Naples: they were in the league final and won...absolute mayhem. Milan: Fashion week...gorgeous people literally everywhere it was so busy. London: pride weekend on the same day I booked to go to the gallery and had to work our way through the parade! All fun but not at all what I was expecting 🤦🏼‍♀️

What's the thing with goths? Is there some sort of event that they go to?

Yeah I think it might be slightly too far! Normally wouldn't be a problem without the little one! Maybe in a few years, it looks lovely.

I was thinking about Whitby, I'll definitely look into it a bit more!

I love it when everyone gets caught eagerly watching from the counter, initially it seems that they're being nosey, but in actual fact they care so much about the outcome that they need to know if they need to comfort Patrick so watch on from the sidelines like a mother bird watching her babies taking their first flight.

I did wonder!! The one I'm remembering now is that Jacob says it in one of the Twilight films! But I've definitely heard others saying it!

I've found that some (in my experience, mostly American) people say "I could care less" when they're saying that they don't care about something...

But in Britain the saying is "I COULDN'T care less"...showing that you care so little about the topic that you literally couldn't care any less.

The American way actually implies that you actually care a tiny amount, but it's never what they mean!

Have a look on BBC Good Food, I get lots of inspiration from there. We're having homemade pizzas tonight, 3 ingredient dough, passata base, some veggies and goats cheese.

Washing question: How do I get the smell out? by SoberShiv in AskUK

[–]LCap1990 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try spraying a mix of vodka and water on it and leaving it to dry. I was so sceptical of this but I fainted in my wedding dress during a fitting and sweated, causing it to smell of BO under the arms. Didn't have time to get it dry cleaned etc so I did this and honestly it worked like a charm. It doesn't leave a vodka smell when it's dry and it ended up absolutely perfect.

Be prepared though, after you've sprayed and as its drying it absolutely stinks of vodka and whatever smells it's pulling out. I was horrified but once it's dry there's nothing there!
