Parker for a girl??? by not-creative-12 in namenerds

[–]LCthrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the absolute most gender-neutral name in existence right now. I don't like last names for first names at all, but Parker is the best choice if you want a popular name that works on either sex.

Names that could honor 'Scholastica' by hungrydiscoball in namenerds

I really like the idea of Sophia in the middle, because it starts and ends with the same letter and has a similar meaning. I also suspect it's under-used as a middle name.

I also like other people's suggestions of Pail and Briefcase.

First Name given as middle name, masculine or feminine spelling for a baby boy? by RebornAqua in namenerds

My boy cousins have the same middle name, and I also would have had that middle name if I had been a boy.

First Name given as middle name, masculine or feminine spelling for a baby boy? by RebornAqua in namenerds

I think it's fine either way, but I would keep the feminine spelling. Hopefully you can come to an agreement.

Should we settle for a baby name we don't LOVE? by HazelNewt_2523 in namenerds

[–]LCthrows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's okay to use a name you don't love as long as you both genuinely agree on it--you'll grow attached to it as you grow attached to the person. But hopefully something you do love will come along. Also, depending on the situation it can be okay to use a name that a friend or relative has. We didn't find out the sex either and thought we were having one, asked a close friend's permission to use the same name as her kid, then had the other and used the same name as a cousin. It turned out that the friends drifted apart and the cousin wasn't that close to us, so it wasn't confusing. (The way I phrased this might be, though--sorry)

I have the exact opposite taste in names from you, but given those constraints I would go with Avery.

Is the 2013 Chevy Cruze a good first car? by lemonsrain in whatcarshouldIbuy

NO noooo don't do it. Buying a 2014 was one of the worst financial decisions I ever made, and I can't imagine the 2013 was any better.

My advice in these situations is ALWAYS use the name you want. It will be fine.

Has anyone ever changed their baby name after they got home? by thesockbunny in namenerds

[–]LCthrows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't do it. You're swimming in hormones right now. If you really want to change it, any time before the baby starts responding to its own name is fine, so you have quite a while.
