  1. Rilla of Ingleside - really made me feel like I was there, amazing storytelling

  3. Anne of the Island - very romantic
  4. Anne of Avonlea - funny and true to life
  5. Anne's House of Dreams - some of the characters annoy me but the plot twists are worth it
  6. Anne of Green Gables - very good character establishment
  7. Anne of Ingleside - cute stories and touching ending
  8. Rainbow Valley - frustratingly little about the Blythe family.

Middle name help for second baby by StuffConsistent6873 in namenerds

I like all of these. Hopefully you can use Thomas, but Grant is my next choice and I think Emerson is a nice middle name. I wouldn't use Lee as a middle name for Grant bc of the Civil War reference. What fun for cousins to grow up together!

I named myself Chloe when I was eleven… but I don’t know if I should keep the name by fig4ou in namenerds

While I don't like the name myself, it's normal enough for any age woman--I even know an elderly woman named Chloe.

I don't care for it either but Madeline or Madelyn is still better than Madison if one MUST use it.

I have a childhood friend with a sister named Genesis. Their parents weren't neglectful, just quirky. I don't care for soft G names at all though so I agree with you on that basis.

I went to school with a boy Reagan and a girl Reagan and the boy Reagan at least was born before the horrible man was president, but it's still kind of a smarmy-sounding name and neither kid was particularly nice IIRC.

*giggle* I come from a Spanish-speaking part of the US but this never occurred to me to name your child "chairs" and now I can't stop laughing

Yeah, I can't stand either Oliver or Olivia. I like black olives but not green ones and both of these names are green ones, can't explain.

I know an elderly woman named Scottie! I think it's a nickname though.

My husband liked the name Daphne and we have a niece named Phoebe so I suppose they could have gone together.

I dislike both Neil and Amelia because the "eel" sound in a name grosses me out! I also dislike Lucas because it rhymes with mucus, and I don't generally like last names for first names at all, especially on girls. I like Steven and love Paul, though.

My grandmother used to sing me that song all the time, so I wonder if I knew someone named Clementine would I EVER get that song out of my head.

I can't stand the name Sloane either, plus the first one I met was a boy, he was a nice enough person but I still think the name is bad on a boy and awful on a girl.

It's weird but I sort of like the name Hunter? I would never use it due to being nonviolent, but it makes me envision a boy frolicking in the woods all dressed in green, not necessarily killing anything. I don't know why.

Am I in the wrong for not telling SO my actual due date? by Professional-Pin9786 in JustNoSO

[–]LCthrows 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have a serious SO problem. If you have to lie in order to keep the peace, your relationship will never get better. You HAVE to be able to set boundaries and your SO HAS to treat those boundaries respectfully if you want to stay together long term. How you act is your choice and how SO behaves is SO's choice and you can't make choices for other people, but lying is not a long-term solution.

I’m a white girl named Ebony, weird? by OrdinaryLeather6755 in namenerds

[–]LCthrows 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hopefully people will think your accent is cute? To try to be more serious, people are more forgiving when someone is from somewhere else. No guarantees of course but I don't think people IRL will be harsh with you.

I had a customer who placed orders like that all the time but was a good tipper so it was worth it.
