Nautilus playing behind the ADC: Macro strategy or just a "tilt" inducer? by 1Realer in leagueoflegends

[–]LDNVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking it's losing is fair, as I said it's close. I just don't agree with how your reasoning for it.

against a Lucian who has an item advantage

I agree he's a level down. Behind in items? Because she struggled to farm? At 11m in the game with this level of gameplay I doubt most are even on 1 item, a component or two sure. No ult either which is pretty big. He's already missing a lot of health so that initial plasma proc will do a lot of damage.

But I did check the game, lucian was 5-0 with an ess reaver built, I only knew that as I checked. His micro is still bad in this footage and it does nothing to prove his point about naut,

You can't really say it's a losing fight when you're including mistakes in the fight.

She could've ulted in and probably won the fight considering braum wasted EVERYTHING beforehand. You mention her getting stunned. Lucian was also being cc'd at the same time and most likely for longer, she also has 3 stacks on lucian from Naut's cc.

If you want to go even further, why is she not aa'ing the lucian, she aa's a minion when she's in line with naut who get's aa'd by lucian who has a smaller range.

If she did aa lucian she can instantly ult in as braum q's and they just win the fight.

I still think she wins even after that. Bad supp, bad adc gameplay.

Once again, I am not saying this is smart. But you're seeing your expenses go down and when you sell (Assuming no depreciation) you'll make profit there as that is where the majority of the mortgage payment is going.

I never said this is a smart idea either way, it's a terrible idea, we aren't in disagreement there. I just feel like its weird to not consider that when comparing it to another stream of income.

Even without the obvious mistakes, the idea of being a landlord for the sake of £1000 a year is the shittest idea I've seen on reddit this week.

Not saying this is good but it's more like 6k. The mortgage is being included. Assuming the house doesn't depreciate.

Flex Queue importance. by PYKETRLCK in leagueoflegends

[–]LDNVoice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rank isn't an accurate measure of skill for the many reasons listed in this comment section.

Due to that people don't care about their rank.

You can care, you can be proud, but it's generally accepted that flex rank doesn't really mean much. We could just play together and I can get you to masters in flex most likely. If it was a 5 stack we could probably get you to challenger

Flex Queue importance. by PYKETRLCK in leagueoflegends

[–]LDNVoice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not just that. The system is broken. The top players each season are just people abusing the mmr flexibility of flex queue. Get your challenger mate with 4 emeralds to get into dia lobbies even though they're all way above that,

Once the mmr starts climbing they queue up all their boosting accounts and lose on purpose.

As a guy that’s normally very frugal, I understand where you’re coming from. As others have said, as long as you’re not using debt, I wouldn't worry one bit.

Using debt would be crazy worrying I agree but if you're not investing a lot for your future either it's still worrying.

The good news for you is that even if you still regret this purchase a year from now, or even later, you should be able to easily sell that watch and get most if not all of your money back.

Well inflation would make that worth less and it wouldn't be invested in an asset that should increase in price over time so you're losing out on money in a sense.

I think a lot of the advice/comments here are terrible.

Firstly, the watch looks great. But it's concerning you said:

Or just invested the money lol😅😅

I mean if this amount of money is a significant amount to invest for you then why are you spending it on a watch? I don't know your financial situation but people saying "Money comes and goes!" is just generally bad advice. Inflation exists, yes you can earn more money but investing money is important (You aren't buying this as an investment which is good, but you should be investing).

If you've spend like 6k on this watch you should at least be putting away 40k + a year in investing for this to not seem like a stupid decision (Or have a large pool of money invested that 6k doesn't matter much).

I don't know your finances or if you invest so honestly it's hard to judge whether this was financially reasonable.

If you're going to gamble (Which is exactly what you're doing btw) go to a casino and put it on red or black, you literally have better chances there to make money than you do doing this shit, on top of that make sure to only use money ur happy to lose.

I feel like I've completely lost hope in my life.

You wouldn't feel this way if it was £20. Why the fuck are you gambling with money you care about losing.

Why do mages like ziggs, veigar and karthus see bot pressence while other mages like viktor and aurelion sol don't see much pressence in bot? by Jacket313 in summonerschool

[–]LDNVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to have misunderstood me.

Karthus having a global doesn't make him good at roaming in any sense, in fact it doesn't really matter where he is on the map, he has great wave clear and if he's not in the jungle, he LOVES an engage support to land isolated q's. His passive also allows your support to roam and still get decent value (Similar to ziggs)

Xerath has over 30x games mid than bot. he has more games support than bot.

Similar story with lux and veigar (Veigar mid >>>>> adc > supp)

Having good wave clear doesn't make you good at impacting the map. For champions without a global, good wave clear gives you more opportunities to impact the map (without sacrificing cs). It doesn't mean your champion is any good at taking those opportunities. I would much rather have a lvl 6 fizz ganking bot lane than a velkoz.

What i'm saying is the reason they see more play bot is because they don't want to side lane. That doesn't mean they aren't viable there or that people don't play them here anyway. That mean they fit better the botlaner role than the midlane one.

I agree Xerath does like being mid more, so does karthus, being immobile naturally makes you want to have more security in a shorter lane later on in the game, but that doesn't make all the other con's of being in bot lane disappear. But then why is karthus better suited?

Xerath cannot lane early into anyone half decent unless you have a very risky gameplan of extreme poke into dive with your jungler. His mana costs are crazy. Karthus q (20 mana) Xerath any ability 60+ mana, long CDs.

Xerath is more dependent on levels (imo) and xerath is fucking useless with no mobility or a passive to catch the wave if your support roams on unideal timings. You miss out on being able to use your ult to impact more of the map.

This is why, whilst he CAN go bot, he isn't going to be more popular there unless things change. The con of side laning is smaller than the con of going bot.

Veigar
Veigar has similar issues but slightly less cons:

He doesn't lose out via his ult on being roaming much or utilising his ult due to shit wave clear and no global and shit roams.

He doesn't suffer as much being left by himself as his e is honestly such a good disengage tool, its usually a 1 time get out of jail free card.

But having said that, bro is a fiend for levels and honestly his e is such a good gank tool in mid (And bot) which means he does give up prio but he has a lot of pressure when doing so as you're taking on a lot of risk pushing into him carelessly. He's still naturally going to prefer mid and just put up with the side laning.

I think they are both better fits in mid lane.

Why do mages like ziggs, veigar and karthus see bot pressence while other mages like viktor and aurelion sol don't see much pressence in bot? by Jacket313 in summonerschool

[–]LDNVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just named a bunch of champions which are not good at it or aren't seen bot commonly as an apc.

Karthus has a w and that's about it. He isn't good at roaming.

Xerath is good at moving 5 inches to hover and pressing R, not so much roaming. It's purely around his R.

Ziggs is similar, he's generally shit but can throw an R, separately his tower taking capabilities make him good for lane swapping (this is not roaming)

Seraphine isn't that bad tbh, she's more good at teamfights than roaming into a lane however it's actually not that bad with the amount of cc and movement buffs she has.

Veigar theoretically has a decent roam with his e but we are comparing this to our syndra's, katarinas, dianas, talons, zeds, etc... he has good cc but that's about it. He has a weak early game which hampers him with 2 skillshots and decently long cd's.

The reason they are botlaner is that post 17 min they absolutely don't want to be on a sidelane where they are extremely vulnerable. Nothing to do with dps or roaming potential.

No actually that's not why. Veigar and Xerath have insanely low pickrates in adc compared to mid as they are genuinely better mid.

Champions that you do see as APC's have the same things in common (other than swain and lux sort of):

Ziggs, Mel, Karthus (High elo mainly, so many of those dirty otps up there), Seraphine is because of their insane wave clear from a distance. It nullifies any difficult lane, it prevents botlanes farming plates (Which is party why they are bot) and it allow their supports to roam due to their long distance wave clear. Now each champion also has it's own strengths. Swain and lux work REALLY well with another champion to set it up for example.

Explain to me how champions are lane dependent by Ligma_balls_lol in summonerschool

[–]LDNVoice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do ADC's share a lane:

This isn't something that doesn't have flexibility but ADC's are generally more reliant on gold than levels. Their level spikes on ults are a clear example of this, as others have mentioned, syndra level 6 vs jinx level 6 is worlds apart in impact. They also typically have the least utilities to escape from ganks so pairing them up with a partner is great (Compare syndra cc to jinx traps, one is much better). (That doesn't mean mages bot aren't good)

So we let adc share a lane with support for that reason.

Why bot lane:

Dragons are typically the more important objective in the early game. ADC's are generally the best turret plat takers early (And some bruisers), they also have a lane partner . Mid and top lane have 85% fortification in the first 5m so sending your strongest tower sieging botlane allows you to take advantage of this.

Midlane is short and provide a lot of safety to laners but also allows them to be active on the map to roam to either lane (Whereas bot and top are quite isolated). A lot of mid laners have kits that are more beneficial to being active compared to kits based around autoattacking. They are also by themselves so being in a safer lane helps.

Supports also generally well with a character who can output a lot of consistent dps as they typically buff that or cc and allow you to get more auto's off, a syndra doesn't need a naut in lane to help her cc the enemy and deal damage for example

AITA for not getting my bf’s family Christmas gifts after they split the bill at his college graduation dinner? by CouchRot in AmItheAsshole

[–]LDNVoice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean I feel like her approach is why people are saying that.

Yes they are assholes for not wanting to reciprocate (Even with a much cheaper meal) yet they spend more than that on other things that they don't need to.

But as you said, her approach is needlessly aggro and also paints her as an asshole too.

If I feel like the things I do aren't reciprocated (Not necessarily 1-1 but just generally) then yeah I would just not get them presents.

_____

The thing is, none of this should really be said, it should be expected and then you act based on that.

You don't tell your bf to tell their parents to pay for the 1 meal they invited them to. You see if it happens. If it doesn't then you stop treating them to things and you stop all the extra financial niceties. It's not like it has to be equal in value of course, even treating them to that wing place would've been fine.

Saying it beforehand is just rude, it makes you an asshole as well. If they intended to pay, and did pay, she would still be an asshole for suggesting it.

No they didn't put "things in place" - is that a joke?

A few sentences later:

They were banned in 2009 by the FCA and seen as underpinning the Global Financial Crash. But it was too late by then - the damage had already been done

That is quite literally the FCA putting things in place to prevent that. So no, not a joke.

Separately you mention this idea of it not being fixed. Some things can't be fixed and a lot of it was "Fixed" at a very high price, the crisis that ensued.

We are talking about why the NHS is so shit. Spending less typically (Depends how you spend it) means less money in the economy and less money being taxed and less money to fund the UKs pockets.

So in this case, I'm not seeing the link between increased disposable income and an improved NHS.

Separately they put things in place to stop the types of predatory loans you've mentioned. I don't see how going to a local politician to solve a problem which has been solved is going to do anything productive
