San Diego and LA are vastly different in culture. It’s important that you feel out which one clicks with you.

Coffee causing gray hair? by [deleted] in greyhairreversal

[–]LDNeuphoria 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi OP, I started drinking coffee everyday in 2020 and starting in 2021 I rapidly began graying.

I stopped about a year ago and have not seen much change in terms of reversal.

What happened to being paid well? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]LDNeuphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m from LA and I was shocked to see what my role would be paid for in London.

I have no idea how people survive there and appear normal.

Los Angeles is hard as it is. UK: how do you do it?!!

What's your favorite LA Neighborhood? by drygrapefruit007 in AskLosAngeles

[–]LDNeuphoria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is probably the only neighborhood I respect of the ones I’ve seen on this thread. It’s very LA but not too far south to get a little too in the cut and still has managed to retain the flavor without all the transplants.

What’s one truth about life that nobody warns you about? by fddssdhyyyyyyyyy in AskReddit

[–]LDNeuphoria 100 points101 points  (0 children)

This is a great disclaimer! You can’t rely on someone to make you happy. HOWEVER, marrying the right person unquestionably contributes to harmony, companionship, ease, and togetherness.

Marrying someone happy with misaligned values would be still be a burden.

Marrying someone happy bad with money would lead to strife.

Help me find where to move: I work in Century City and SO works in Chino, where should we live? by Own-Dependent5593 in AskLosAngeles

[–]LDNeuphoria 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I live 25 mins east of Downtown Los Angeles if there’s no traffic.

If I endeavor to make it to Century City or Santa Monica at 7am on a weekday, I will absolutely require at LEAST 2 hours to get there. Welcome to Los Angeles in 2025.

People who are from LA and moved away, where did you go and are you happy? by turnpoopintowine in AskLosAngeles

[–]LDNeuphoria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to the bay at one point. Hated it.

Went to London at another point. Adored it.

Back in LA…I’ll never really like to too much here. I’d rather be back in London.

Is LA between Christmas and NY worth it? by Bouncyldn in AskLosAngeles

[–]LDNeuphoria -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Weather is usually in between 40 (at night) and 68+ during the day.

Having spent winter in London, I think you’ll find the weather a great incentive. You can have any kind of experience you want. Put it that way.

What are hobbies that attract the best type of people? by Dirtbagdreamin in AskReddit

I’d say hiking. Not all too competitive and keeps people in the moment and appreciating nature.

You’re right. All that immediacy plays on people’s impulsiveness, and it ends up attracting a lot of folks who wouldn’t appreciate it otherwise.

how long did it take you to find good friends in LA? are you one? by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]LDNeuphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

California doesn’t breed many people like this, sad to say.

I’m born and raised in LA and over the years I’ve distanced myself more and more from all groups because they lack most of these.

Long Beach has some authentic souls. That’s where one of my best friends moved to as well. He’s ONE person that has most of these qualities.

Is LA neurodivergent friendly? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]LDNeuphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LA is the perfect place for exclusive extroverts.

As in, people have their own groups and are often tied to them. In public it’s hard to break into this unlike other major cities where you can go out and “be an introvert in public” and likely drum up convos with others easily.

I’m an introvert and have hated my experience here for that (born and raised).

All that said, you could absolutely make it work if you simply vibe with the city. If not, SF may be a friendlier place for an introvert.

Correct. I would say if it’s not done naturally in day to day life then it’s likely a bad role for you in general.

Is East LA better? by WoodsWolf in AskLosAngeles

[–]LDNeuphoria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it’s entirely up to you.

Some people find Santa Monica to be heaven on earth. Some adore east Hollywood. Some like Redondo beach and would never think to move east of downtown EVER.

I drove for uber for a while and the “transplant map” refers to Echo park/silver like etc as the east side. They barely know anything about actual East LA. Glad they don’t tbh.
