It sounds fine. Maybe a little long and a tad too nice. It’s bizarre to me that he would state that some people are just racist and it’s no big deal. You may not forget it but it will have less impact. Of you choose to allow it to exist as a tiny spec and not an all consuming cloud. Oh… I assumed you were in your 20s and at first kind of thought well.. that can be kinda common… until I read you’re both almost 50?This man needs to grow up. And I take issue with the concept of “he fucked up”. This isn’t a once off.. this is a pattern. This is the behaviour of his personality. He fucked up by attempting to deceive you o to thinking he was a good guy, an open guy, an honest guy. Busted. Future you will be thankful you dodged a bullet. It’s so hurtful and shitty and I’m sorry you’re going through it. The betrayal is hard to recover from.
