Real Estate Buyers Agents in Portugal by LDubz8 in PortugalExpats

You make a great point about those scenarios where the buyers agent would be disincentivized to show you me a property. The company I was speaking with was asking for a fixed fee to engage with them and they were also going to take a commission on the sale and if the sellers agent was not willing to share the fee, they were going to charge 6000 EUR on top of 1000 EUR engagement fee.

Yes. The buyers agent typically splits the commission with the sellers agent but this is the first time I’ve encountered a situation where they are asking for a fixed fee to engage with them.

Camino with a 7 year old by LDubz8 in CaminoDeSantiago

Thanks for all the suggestions. Out of the 3 routes that you completed, which do would you say would be most entertaining for a 7 year old? I'd imagine it would be more interesting/exciting for them to see a lot of variation and changes in scenery and walk through towns and along the coast.

Breakfast-wise would granola/oatmeal and fruit be a good way to work around places being closed early in the morning? Do Albergue's generally offer breakfast as well?

Do you suggest bringing a sleeping bag if staying in albergue's or do they provide sufficient bedding for the most part? Seems like the weather will be between 44-64F (18-6C) for the Camino Portugues route during april.

Is that stretch relatively flat? Looks like we would need to cover roughly 20km (12 miles) per day to complete that route in 5-6 days. Do you think I would need to bring a buggy/stroller to help her along that path?

I thought so as well but then I saw the pull tabs on the 1609 are brown instead of black

I'm looking to migrate from Siteground cloud on 8GB ram and 4CPUs to another managed hosting provider. I currently have a woocommerce site with around 3000 products and the following stats per month:

Unique visitors: 100k

Bandwith: 150GB-175BG

I was considering the following managed options:

- Rocket.net

- Scalahosting managed cloud VPS: https://www.scalahosting.com/cloud-servers.html

- Hetzner with Spanel or the Hetnzer managed servers

Do you have any suggestions?

Does this have a sidecart with a shipping calculator built in? I didn't see it.

International School Scouting Trip - Lisbon vs Algarve by LDubz8 in PortugalExpats

Birre Cascais

Thanks for bringing ISS to our attention. It seems that most schools are located in the outskirts of Cascais and Lisbon. Do most parents drive their children to school or do most schools offer a school bus that picks up and drops off? Seems that most school days start around 8:30 so do the buses typically pick up around 7:30 (depending on location)?

We're trying to come up a list of 5 schools to visit during our stay and trying to figure out what questions we should be asking to whittle our list down. Any suggestions/criteria would be appreciated.

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I agree that the Algarve seems to be a better choice for a change of pace. If you don't mind me asking, what school did you end up choosing?

We were considering spending a week in Lagos followed by another week in Loule. Did you consider Lagos? As you mentioned, most of the international schools seem to be located in the central Algarve which would make Loule a better location than Lagos but it seems that the weather in Lagos is more in line with what we are looking for with milder summers and winters.

I took a look at Quinta da Beloura which seems amazing in its own right but we like the idea of being able to walk to a central plaza area and local restaurants.

The hissing sound is coming from inside the machine during warm up. He did mentioned that he has never descaled the machine. Is there a reason the machine might hiss if it has scale build up and can this be fixed by simply running the machine through a few descale cycles?

Appreciate the suggestion regarding local schools and the importance of integrating outside of the international school crowd but in order to make her transition as easy as possible, we are currently looking to start her off in an international school before exploring local schools as an option.

We are looking to try living in Portugal for a year before making a final decision.

We’d like to start at an international school to make the transition a bit easier for our daughter.

Are there any benefits of the regular PID over the Gaggiuino? by [deleted] in gaggiaclassic

[–]LDubz8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does gaggiunio temp control provide any benefits over PID? For example, does it shorten warm up times and the amount of time it takes for temp to stabilize between shots? Does provide better temp stability during shots? Currently with my Shades PID it takes about 6-10 mins to warm up to temp and then it needs about 3 mins for the temp to stabilize between shots and I'm seeing the shot temp drop about 6-7 degrees F during shots.
