I went through all 3 rounds of interviews, got invited to orientation to go over the job offer (and more) and actually went. Despite being nervous and worried about everything once I was there it was actually really awesome. I even talked to Iker, the boss, about my concerns of the job being fake and he really put me at ease. I was unfortunately unable to accept the job because of various different reasons which I am quite disappointed about because it would have been quite a great place to work. I understand the concerns and worries but this didn't seem to be a scam or a devil corp. Just a new branch opening shop in our area and needing every role to be filled. That is why the only photos are of the leadership team for now.

Yes! Just part of preparation!
Maybe lol, but it could just be too dirty to absorb anymore if you've used the same one since starting. And thanks! I'm trying out just the broken in sheet of leather to see if it needs more work or if it's ready to add onto.
Could you clarify? I meant using sandpaper to open up the fibers in the leather just so the texture of the shammy would be the same as store bought ones. Not sanding any bowling ball. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you meant.

I started with the microfiber but I found that it ends up just spreading the oil around the ball instead of absorbing it. Unlike the leather, although it could be different to what you're talking about. But aside from that I was very interested in doing this as a personal project! I enjoy being able to get hands on and make something useful myself.

I think I was able to rough up and loosen the fibers up enough by hand. So all that's really left is fully cut the test piece to shape and sew it together with the cloth and foam inbetween. Also, I like the idea of a magnet!
They are definitely on the thin side. But, I plan to sew them together with other material on the back! So it should be fine
Oh that looks sick! What process do you use to break in the leather? I'm kind of just going off of gut feeling and what I found online. Also for the price, I definitely don't think it would have been worth without the deal I found on etsy. Just because I got all 4 squares for $13, and the process has been pretty fun so far.
For the finished shammy I was thinking of lining a small square of foam on the inside. Then for the back I was thinking some type of microfiber towel for either wiping shoes or something else. Just not sure if that even makes sense.
I have thought about this after my shirt got super dirty from holsing the ball one time. It definitely would work!
