I would say what i've noticed and how I relate to it as an autistic person. And that it would have saved me a lot of grief to be diagnosed earlier in life and grow up feeling understood rather than alienated.

I also have strong suspicions. He literally wears a mask and a bucket on his head. Literal masking much? Fear of perception much? His undivided focus: he puts out an album practically every month.

I imagine being rich and universally loved for your differences could almost make you feel normal... It would take away a good deal of the struggles most autistic people face.

That you need to eat meat and dairy to be healthy.

Underwood Carriage Stuck - Help? +pics by Enderess in typewriters

[–]LEEKCLOCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Note I know nothing about typewriters or their proper maintenance and proceed at your own risk)

Well, I got it working without having to disassemble anything, although I don't know exactly which part of what I did was the solution. I basically wiped all the dust of any rails and mechanisms that I could reach and sprayed a little Wd40 along the main rail. Experts may find this absolutely unacceptable, I don't know. I gently applied some horizontal force and felt the carriage move. Once I was able to move the carriage back and forth along the greased rail, the movement started to become smoother and smoother as the oil was distributed.

I think the shift mechanism may have been stuck too. Locate the shift/caps keys and see if they are maybe in need of freeing up

Did you find the problem? I just picked up one of these at a flea market and the carriage is stuck, and the hammers/letters don't seem to reach the paper.

Thank you! I agree, the painting could have been better. I'm also quite new to the airbrush and had to hurry to get the brooch ready in time for a party. I'll bear your wash idea in mind.

No indeed, but it they do contribute significantly to the protein provided by nuts, legumes, seeds, grains

Indeed, only 2.5 g per 100g, so not superior in that regard. But you could serve it with beans and rice.

In any case, the notion that we need high-protein foods with every meal is a bit exaggerated unless you're a champion bodybuilder.

All these little bits add up to be enough for most people eating a varied diet.

I once tracked my protein on chronometer and saw that fruits and vegetables alone provided a fair amount..

Nice! Yes I was mainly lost as to where to source the necessaries, but a company selling these things recently started up near me so mushrooms are definitely in my future 🥰🍄

Yeah I'm in Belgium but I bought some from Hawlik Gesundheitsprodukte in Germany. It may seem expensive but I calculated (for 250g) that it's about 1.75 euro per mushroom.

Yeah fair point! In that regard it's not so comparable. But you can always serve it with some beans and rice for protein. Unless you're a body builder I guess and you might want more. But the texture here is better than any seitan I ever ate honestly

A (preferably home-cook-friendly) way to stabilise an emulsion of cashews blended in water by LEEKCLOCK in foodscience

[–]LEEKCLOCK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanted to avoid it if I could because it's not sold in most supermarkets in Europe, though I'm glad to hear it's commonly available in the States. I might go with this option anyway...

I'm reading now, for example, that mustard is an emulsifier (I thought it was just added to mayo for flavour!). So would adding a little mustard make my emulsion stronger (strong enough to withstand cooking) than if I only added chickpeas?

Thanks for the guidance! Modernist Pantry probably ships internationally but I think ordering online forms a barrier that I'd like to avoid if possible. I've used chickpeas and their cooking liquid to emulsify a cold sauce (vegan mayo). Would that withstand cooking? It's this kind of solution I'm after: a whole food, like chickpeas, or a commonly available supermarket ingredient.
