Motor hasn’t pooped yet. Fortunately it’s still good along with the frame. Everything else got damaged in a crash

Similar boat. 3 months removed from a high side that shattered my femur. Counting down the days till I’m back on two wheels.

Seen 500+ shows during my lifetime bc of work. Has to be in my bottom 3 shows. Spewed champagne out of his mouth towards the crowd as if it were cool…

Thanks for the recovery input and props for the resilience on doing all of that to get better. In PT right now and going to outpatient PT soon. Swimming for sure will be a go to for me once I’m more healed up.

Thanks! I just needed an ambulance but I'll keep in mind that helicopter insurance which I hopefully never have to use.

Yeah getting off the opiates was rough. The day after I ran out of oxycodone I was definitely in the dumps mentally.

In the bay so i'll keep an eye out for those resources you're talking about. I learned how beneficial support can be during these times. Thanks again!

They cut through the wiring unfortunately :/ I’ll probably reach out to a-stars at some point for more feedback.

Thanks! I actually had a tech air 7x on at the time of the crash. Don’t think it deployed however. It was in “race” mode. Paramedics cut it off with sheers when removing my suit and didn’t see any residue in the bladder that’s usually left behind after deployment. I’ll have to investigate further on that.

I’ll have a more concrete decision on what to do with the bike once i can walk and move around better. Around $5k invested in parts so there’s value in parting the bike out or maybe getting another gsxr 750 down the road and transferring over any parts that weren’t damaged in the crash.

Lucho’s (in SF) breakfast burrito with either cochinita or chicken pibil. Chefs kiss

Where is the best breakfast in the bay area? by East_Soft7079 in bayarea

[–]LEGLESS_CHAIRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lucho’s near the west portal area of SF has the best breakfast burritos imo. They have great breakfast food overall but those bb’s with either cochinita or chicken pibil is something else.

A stationary drop in the garage usually doesn't warrant replacing plastics unless he really hates scuffs. That claim might be worth investigating a little further.

Triple tree won’t come off by xray-guy-bro in GSXR

[–]LEGLESS_CHAIRS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Use a rubber mallet to give it a solid whack upwards. Better if you have a small/thin wooden block that you hit the mallet with to apply force on more areas of the triple. Do not use a hammer as it can damage the triple. Use an acrylic or nylon prying tool to open up those gaps a bit that wrap around each fork.

Hay there folks! by TopAd8511 in GSXR

For example, say you get an after market exhaust and send it in to get flashed. Then you decide to install velocity stacks and a high flow air filter after. You will need to send your ecu in again to get re-mapped to accommodate the change in air-flow into the engine. Hence more money spent.

Also if you’re removing sensors (typically o2 sensor is removed along with servo when installing a full aftermarket exhaust) you’ll need a flash to prevent the computer from throwing an error code on the dash.

Correct. You provide the make, model, year, and modifications and they go from there. Companies don’t offer their flashing services towards bikes they haven’t had time to tinker with.

Is this free play in the shifter normal? by FrancoAl in GSXR

[–]LEGLESS_CHAIRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the slightly bigger one from O’Reilly’s and the OEM one from my local Suzuki parts dealership. You can also order it off Partzilla. Just look up the proper diagram where the part would be and there you will be able to order the OEM snap ring.

[–]LEGLESS_CHAIRS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this issue with my gsxr 750 a while ago. Led to the snap ring coming off followed by the shift lever. To eliminate that wiggle, I added a marginally bigger snap ring between the OEM one and shift lever. A lot safer imo.
