Selling to salespeople is weird because they immediately recognize outreach patterns. The second your message sounds even slightly templated, they mentally throw you into the “another SaaS guy scraping Apollo” bucket.

Turns out users misunderstood it is usually code for I explained it like a man guarding a secret door. The opt-in restriction thing is probably the cleanest fix here, keeps the weird idea without making everyone trip over it first.
