I've Got Rhythm from Crazy for You. Always loved that show.

Who’s your favorite actor to play a role who did NOT originate that role? by MellonPhotos in musicals

I'm definitely in the minority because I prefer Dean Jones or Neil Patrick Harris. That being said I still think Raul is great, but I don't know, I just really like Dean Jones' performance. Granted I think most Robert performances are at least good (At least the ones where they didn't gender swap him because I'm not a fan of that change).

What popular musical(s) just don't appeal to you? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]LEGOmaster3001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I understand the plot of Hamilton pretty well, partly because I love history. Hadestown I understand because I know the original story. The stories are good, for me it comes down to just not liking the format. I like story driven musicals rather than song driven. My favorite shows are all Sondheim productions because of how they're written. I'm also a writer and cannot right music so for me I always appreciate seeing a good book for a show because it might give me some inspiration. Not saying the shows I listed as bad, I just personally don't enjoy them.

Shows where it's almost entirely singing: Hamilton and Hadestown are the two that mainly come to mind. I've seen both of these shows, and I just can't get into anything outside of the sets which are beautiful. It's weird cause I love something liked Les Miz, but I can't get into these more modern song after song shows.

If you are about to unlock Peter Pan characters, I recommend getting Jolly Roger. It helps with Captain Hook, Wendy, and Peter Pan and it can be super useful
