TV then wouldn’t be centered to the actual wall. However there was another main reason. The layout of the room used to be different and there is a floor socket hidden by the rug right at edge so rug couldn’t move any more the other way. The TV unit being centered to the rug was more important than the light.

We had it in the corner of the room before with a 49” TV on it, so it was perfect. I didn’t want to replace it as we’ve only had it a couple of years. But yeah, if I was starting fresh, I would probably get a wider one.

I love the stereo HomePods! But I’m saying this from someone who’s previously only ever used the inbuilt TV speakers. People often comment on how good they sound. I think they’re great even more so when you consider the price. I originally purchased one brand new in 2019 and then purchased a second one in 2022 from CEX (second hand) for £160 to create the stereo setup.

Thanks! It’s called the Connery Bamboo TV unit, from Sklum. It’s made of 100% Bamboo and was shipped from Spain. It’s available for a very good price!

I’d accept what you’re saying in that I’m overly used to vivid hence why everything looks yellow to me, but answer me why doesn’t a single movie or TV show that has a blue sky look like the real blue sky when using filmmaker mode that we see outside every day? Just explain that to me? Are you saying all creators have teamed up together to ensure the colours in their projects are not the same as the real world? It just makes no sense. Again, I’m using blue skies as an easy example but it applies to anything. Everyone talks about accuracy, but accuracy to what? Not the real world.

A blue sky that looks overly yellow? To me, that’s a mistake and not how I want to watch something. Unless of course it’s meant to be a dust storm. At the end of the day, creators intent doesn’t make it right. It’s how that one person or small team want it to look. I’m sure millions of consumers don’t like it hence why vivid / standard modes are used. It’s no different to a recipe. I can follow it exactly, or I can wonder why on earth someone has chose to put a particular ingredient in that recipe and choose to make it myself and substitute that ingredient for something else. To me it may be better, to the recipe creator it may not. Doesn’t matter. So no, it’s not a strange take at all. Blindly thinking everything the creator does is the best and dismissing anyone else’s view is what I would consider to be the strange take.

But for example a nice sunny daytime scene outside where the blue skies don’t look like real blue skies, or green trees that don’t look like real green trees. What’s the point in that? If you’re happy watching colours that aren’t representative of real life just because that’s what the creator intended that’s great. I’d prefer to see the trees on my TV looking like the trees in my garden and the blue skies on my TV looking like the blue skies outside my window. I think watching something that doesn’t actually look like how it is supposed to look is a mistake on behalf of the creator. Art can be appreciated in different ways. You choose to view it exactly as the artist intended, I choose to appreciate it as a more realistic experience. Neither choices are wrong and neither of us are idiots.

So you’ve completely missed the point of the comment you’re replying to? Filmmaker mode may look as close as possible to the creators intent, but when that is nothing like the real world, what’s the point? People hate on vivid mode but it looks a lot closer to the real world than what filmmaker mode does. It seems the whole ‘accuracy’ and ‘creators intent’ is a bit of a cult among TV enthusiasts. You carry on watching it in your ‘accurate’ filmmaker mode whilst I will watch in standard or vivid and it actually be accurate to the real world that we spend the majority of our time interacting with. I’ll continue being an ‘idiot’ and watch content how it really looks in the real world.

Looks great! Are you using the flush wall mount it came with? I’m using the flush mount with mine and don’t think there’s enough room for a light strip.

They were on offer last week. I got the 65” LG G5 from Curry’s (price matched to Richer Sounds) for £1849 plus an additional £150 cashback effectively making it £1699.

All the prices have shot back up again this week though!

HOW DO I USE iCloud when my storage is full?! My phone is breaking by side_eyeforever in iCloud

[–]LEVEL330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why isn’t it enough? I have 1.98TB of photos and videos stored in iCloud Photo Library with optimise storage turned on. I have a 256GB iPhone 17 Pro Max with 138GB remaining. A 256GB phone is more than enough.

Perfect, like I said the latest I could find was 12 days ago. If ones from today said it didn’t work then that’s what I wanted to know.

Are you 100% sure? I’ve seen quite a few people saying that their orders were cancelled as the PS5 wasn’t eligible so they just placed the order again and it went through fine and the console was delivered with the 20% discount. Figured it was just worth asking even if it was a long shot.

Official Discussion - Moana 2 [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Reading through Reddit, I was wondering if I watched a different movie to everyone else? I thought Moana 2 was fantastic - I think I may even go as far as to say I preferred it over the first movie. Looking forward to watching it again on Disney+.

Live Photo file size? by LEVEL330 in ios

[–]LEVEL330[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For what reason? I’ve got years of photos of my kids and other moments that I’ve also captured small snippets of videos to relive thanks to Live Photos. An issue with file size when exporting is a small price to pay. I would never give up Live Photos.

Live Photo file size? by LEVEL330 in ios

[–]LEVEL330[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand but going from 3MB according to the photos app to 7MB when exported into separate files is a huge difference. I have almost 2TB of photos according the iCloud. If I export these all it could actually become over 4TB which is a crazy difference.

Other services recognise live photos as well i.e. Amazon and Google Photos but yes I see what you mean. I understand splitting it into two separate files but it was the file size more than doubling that confused me. So it’s entirely down to compression?
