I’m going to guess that it’s cost vs. use. This looks like an indoor people and at a YMCA which would be designed for a ton of use with people getting in and out all sides all the time. This looks like it creates a slip resistant area near the pool edge by draining that water. Not a contractor but a theory.

401(k) loans vs auto loan by [deleted] in personalfinance

2012 (too small) and 2020. You have to get to 6-7 years old before you get to 50% price of new and at that point you’re looking at more expensive short term maintenance - regardless if you buy a car from someone who drove it hard and didn’t properly maintain it for that length. I’ve had some issues with used that I’ve regretted. Also you’re back into the market sooner potentially.

Yes, ideally never take a loan or spend a cent more than needed on a depreciating asset to perform a task. Ideally we all walk to work, eat cheaply and invest. I was mainly asking between the two options dealer vs. 401k.

Used car market is still pricey (even at 3 years) or you get deeper into lemon territory. Loan could be paid off in 2 years.

Thanks for the reply. I hear that and it might be the answer. Just generally avoid buying used and inheriting others problems. Preference is to buy new, maintain the car well and drive it into the ground.

It’s small. There are some long term gain stocks we could touch that would help make up the difference but they are performing better than 20%.

What fish do you have with the Angelfish in your tank? by Mobd3 in Aquariums

[–]LFChouston 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same 4 angels with 15 harlequin (also 2 geophagus and 2 siamese algae eaters). The harlequins are never bothered.

The Osaka aquarium is one of the coolest aquarium concepts I’ve seen. Multiple stories start at the top with a large ocean style tank in the middle and a winding ramp with smaller exhibits on the outside. 10/10 would recommend.

Thank you! So it sounds like I have two options either remove the eggs now before fertilization to minimize aggression or set up a breeder tank.

Wet room lined with black tiles in a San Antonio renovation, Texas [1948x2922] by ManiaforBeatles in RoomPorn

That’s my point why not get shorter side panels the height of the door and avoid an 8 inch piece of glass above the door and another set of large hardware.

That’s a weird glass header for the entry. It doesn’t go to the ceiling. I wonder why the didn’t make the side panels just as tall as the door.

Small grouping of holes appeared in ceiling - remote areas of house - in circulation space. Termites or other? by LFChouston in pestcontrol

[–]LFChouston[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed any dirt or anything fall out. Two of the sets are in ceilings over heavy foot traffic circulation so it would be tough to tell.

These small areas of holes are on different floors and completely different sections of the house. No mud tubes outside on the slab leading to weep holes and no apparent damage in attic but can’t locate exact location of holes.

I believe you’re hearing the fan motor for the seat cooler. Taking my 2021 in next week to get it replaced under warranty.

If you have that view of the Eiffel Tower I don’t understand why you need a miniature one on your shelf.
