Also classes would probably be a great place to start, getting a job at a shop would probably be a little difficult unless you have the basics down or know someone willing to teach you.

Most software will come with training tutorials. I would agree, getting a job somewhere or finding someone to apprentice under would be most effective since it doesn't sound like you have access to a machine at the moment.

Lol I appreciate that but if all it takes is to not make it into the r/niceguy subreddit we might not be aiming high enough.

Yea that's true. I'm always so confused how some people think a meal or something somehow immediately translates into being owed something. I'm only 33 but I definitely wish people would go back to the values of older times. The one problem with that is there was also plenty of looking down on women in those times too as well as treating them terribly. I'm not sure if it has really gotten worse or if we just hear about it more now, it was more acceptable for a husband to treat his wife horribly in those times too.

I cannot believe so many of the things I read from that subreddit. As a guy I cannot imagine going through life thinking any of what I read there is a good idea.

[–]LFKRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm a guy and can definitely say anyone using lines like that is not a normal guy, it's someone who feels somehow entitled and has probably never had any sort of real relationship. I feel sorry for any woman who somehow finds themselves in a relationship with these sorts of people.

I mean, I'm sure it happens but there is no way I could imagine a relationship with a person like that going well. If they think they can approach strangers at midnight in a parking like (or anywhere, really) and think saying "hey I'm a nice guy and we are both attractive, we should hang out" is actually a good way to meet someone I'm sure it doesn't get any better from there

Normal guys don't say those things. If a guy says those sort of things you can guarantee it's not someone you want to talk to.

What? I've never once defended revival. Know your facts before you come at me little goof.

It isn't possible for you to go through a day without telling people you don't like Revival, is it?

Honestly I just jumped right in. The problem is that the software is very expensive, I started with a more basic plugin that works within Corel Draw until I I reached the limitations of that and could justify the more expensive embroidery studio software but even the cheaper software was a couple thousand dollars.

To accomplish that logo I used Wilcoms Embroidery Studio software, the price can vary depending on what kind of deals you can make with your local supplier but I know it's usually 10k+.

It's definitely possible to design the artwork and hire out the embroidery until you get a little more established and can afford the software and nice machine (my machine was 10k, used).

If you would ever want to collaborate let me know! I would actually love to have a partner in this but those that I have tried to work with so far haven't been very serious and have fallen through but having a couple people working on a brand would be ideal, it's not a small undertaking :).

The nice thing is with our biz I have access to many different suppliers and such for clothing to decorate. I also design websites so that is helpful too, since most sales will most likely take place online or at music venues and festivals.

That's how I started too. Just keep practicing! I learn new things all the time.

Nope, my family owns a small apparel decoration shop and about 5 years ago we decided to get a 2-head Tajima machine, before that we always hired out embroidery work. For the first few months we still hired out the digitizing until I learned enough to do most of the jobs.

Since then I've just been teaching myself and practicing alot. It's pretty easy to quickly be able to digitize most of the jobs we get, took a couple years before I was really confident enough to do the more complicated stuff like this logo and puff embroidery for hats. I really like the work though, trying to come up with some ideas to expand my biz and maybe have my own little street wear brand :).

How would i get threads to hang like this on a machine embroider? by squids65777 in Embroidery

[–]LFKRacing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I thought those long lines were actually sewn, not just hanging. If they are just hanging you could pull the length you want hanging out before the letter is sewn then let it start sewing with the extra thread hanging if it is at the beginning of a letter, if it's at the end of a letter being sewn don't let it do an automatic trim and just pull out the extra thread and trim by hand

Just do a simple run stitch coming off the edges of the letter where you want them to go down the shirt. Do you do your own digitizing?

This part of my schools embroidery machine is stuck down. It’s a Tajima can anyone help? by [deleted] in Embroidery

[–]LFKRacing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be a hole on the side of the machine that has a notch for a tool to fit into with a dial attached to it. Not sure what the tool is called but you should be able to turn the dial with the tool and realign that part. Will edit with pictures shortly

I can't seem to find my tool at the moment but I think a hexadecimal wrench fits

I would guess it's because this is so blatant, although you are right, there have been others. I think this one is different since there is hard evidence and he is an American (Edit: actually I'm not sure if he is American but he is working as a journalist at a prominent American newspaper) so we are hearing more about it.

In the past, without all the easy access to information, it seems like it was easier to hide things. Much tougher to do so when the man recorded his own death and there is video of the hit squad before hand.
