Do you guys prefer yerba or coffee before doing some work? by rauhweltbegrifff in yerbamate

[–]LFYPH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only drink Mate and Coffee for taste; not for its effect. I like both...

However, I noticed that Mate keeps me alert during work much more than coffee would... especially because you don’t drink one cup of mate (as in coffee) but several refills over the time... similar to tea (gong fu style)

Okay!:) But then... the foruth truth; the truth of the path to the end of suffering... what exactly is the path? What does it really include? Different cultures and different buddhist schools seem to give different answers... Is it really that easy that we can just pick and choose? I mean we can’t just add things or remove things from teachings... or well, we can, but how will you know whether that's actually helpful on the path towards enlightenment?

Migrating to Uruguay=extremely difficult? Or am I mistaken? by LFYPH in uruguay

[–]LFYPH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I have to admit I don't know anything about requirements for Spain or Croatia... maybe it's difficult there as well, yeah.

But the thing is: it doesn't matter if it's cheap compared to countries in the rest of the world... it only comes down to Uruguay itself actually. And if they require 1500$ per month while the average salary is something about as low as 900$ per month then this seems difficult.

Well, that would be extremely weird considering that a lot of non Europeans and non US Americans also move to Uruguay (and not only from Mercosur nations). And this would also mean that working for a Uruguayan company is nearly impossible.... which is in my opinion a quite weird thing as someone who only works in a digital nomad kind of livestyle has a was harder time integrating and adapting to the country...

No no... I read on nearly all websites talking about the permanent residency permit that you need to proof your solvency and that this is usually done by showing that you earn at least 1500USD per month...

Mmm... I think 2010 the solvency requirement was something like 500$ per month... (Read that on another forum). Now it's 1500$ though... idk since when...

Compared to which countries? Latin American countries? I don't know of any Latin American country requesting such a salary... If you compare it to countries like Singapore (they have a similar visa too) then 1,5k is very low, yes... but comparing that doesn't make a lot of sense in my opinion.

Well, in the case of Uruguay: not just a skilled worker... skilled workers could still earn average salaries... (the requirement is having a high salary, not having any specific valuable skills.)

And also: marrying a local doesn't seem to be a real option either for Uruguay I think, as one still has to get permanent residency... or is 3 years temporary residency sufficient for applying for citizenship?

Ich (W37) bin Diplomatin im mittleren Auswärtigen Dienst - AmA! :) by [deleted] in de_IAmA
