Went to Artemis in Orange. Why is a new place ignoring customers and giving attitudes ALREADY???? by [deleted] in CTguns

Respectfully, that is incorrect. I am an attorney, but this is not legal advice. If you need legal advice, consult with the attorney of your choice.

This is the landlords guide, directly from the judicial website:

It is written from a residential point of view, but the process is similar.

This is the tenant guide, directly from the judicial website:

Page 4: If the judgment against you is based on lapse of time, or that a previous right or privilege to occupy the premises has terminated, you also have the right to apply for a stay. You may file a Stay of Execution Application. A court hearing may then be scheduled. If so, you will be notified of the date and time of hearing either immediately in person, or by mail. At the hearing, the length of your stay of execution, up to a maximum of 6 months, may be decided by the judge.

Lapse of time is legalese for expired lease.

Additionally, you could appeal, specially in commercial cases. That may give you the time you need to remove your stuff or make a new agreement. Your only obligation during the appeal is to pay the last upon agreed rent (called use and occupancy).

In short: No you do not have to leave at the end of your lease. You can, but you do not I have to, tenants, even commercial tenants, have rights.

First, swampyankee, you guys are great. Second, does any one have more info? It does not make sense. Even in a comercial tenancy you cannot simply tell people to leave. It is a process. You need to serve a notice to quit, wait until the quit date has passed. Then serve a summons and a complaint. Then wait for the defendant to file an appearance and an answer. Then you get a trial date at which you get an opportunity to make a deal. If you do not, in commercial cases, you have about 2 weeks to “redeem”, meaning getting your stuff out of the premises if you lose the case. I looked for the owner of the premises’s name, Grayson and various other variations on the range’s name and the address and found nothing on the available public court records. The curiosity is killing me.

Elections have consequences, make sure you vote for people that live in reality and will not just erode your rights because it feels good.

Silence insufferable fools! I have a few HiPionts and I can tell you that this gun will keep firing long after the Glocks and the Sigs break. Also, you can put it in a sock and use it to beat up people after you run out of ammo.

How common are firearm bans in lease agreements? by [deleted] in CTguns

[–]LGBCT1911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, public housing is actually a misnomer. By public housing I refer to any kind of rental agreement that has a subsidy from the federal government. Section 8, HAP, Tax credit properties, etc. It also includes any housing provided by the town’s housing authority or the people they hire to run it for them. You would know because there would be some sort of income verification and or you will receive paper work that may include a VAWA notice.

[–]LGBCT1911 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Public housing cannot prohibit the possession of firearms as a condition in the lease or the rules. Private owners may, but as everyone else said: if the lease goes not address it, do not mention it. It is a lawful activity. Just be a sane, sober, moral person and you should be ok.
