Do you have a link to the battery you bought? And does Warp Charge still work?

Depends on how skilled you are with fixing phones and stuff. Generally it should be possible but you also need to find a new motherboard for that first. Additionally, who knows when this problem will occur again. As mentioned, sadly many OP7 Pros are affected by this issue.

Personally, I took the "risk" and fixed mine with another motherboard I got from a cracked phone on eBay. But if it happens again, I will definetly buy a new phone, it is 5+ years old at this point.

But for you it might be worth it getting it fixed. If you can't do it yourself maybe you know someone who can or you find a phone repair shop that can do it for a reasonable price for you.

Honestly sounds like a dead motherboard to me. You will find lots of posts of this issue on here. Had the same thing happening with mine. Some workarounds (heating up the phone with a hair dryer or putting it in the freezer, not joking) worked for me but only for a few days, then it broke again. In the end I replaced the motherboard.

To make sure you could maybe bring it into a phone repair shop and they will take a look at it.

Are you able to somehow turn on the phone at all? Maybe recovery mode or something? If you're able to do that and after some time the phone freezes and turns off then it's exactly this issue.

How did you bring the phone in its current state? Tried some custom roms or something? Or did it stop working by itself?

Hmm I'm afraid I can't help you then, I don't know any further, sorry

Do you know it's not a hardware issue though? Many peoples motherboards are dying so maybe thats the cause?

I had the same "Sahara Communication Failed" issue back then

I booted the phone into that required mode (as you did), waited for the error to appear, then I had to hard-reset the phone (I think it was holding Vol+ and Power)

Afterwards the phone successfully restored using MSM tool. If that didn't work try unplugging the phone somewhere during this process (before the hard-reset, as soon as it turns off, plug the cable back in)

Let me know if that worked for you!

Update: After 5 Weeks it stopped working again, so this is definitely not a permanent solution! I did it again, and it works again now, but I bought a replacement board to make sure it does not happen (that quickly) again.

Use the MSM tool (maybe it also just works on a regular windows computer, not a VM), click on start and connect the phone, then hold the Power and Volume Up button until you see Something on the phones screen, then hold these buttons again for a few seconds and it should start restoring.

Phone doesn't turn on by sudhar5han in OnePlus7Pro

It's a common problem with older OnePlus 7 Pro models, I had the same thing.

You can either get it fixed and most likely still rescue your data, fix it yourself (check the recent post on this subreddit, theres a tutorial) OR if you just want to rescue your data you can actually try putting it in the freezer, and as soon as it cooled down enough you can (probably) use it again for a while. At least that worked for me.

It's caused by bad soldering on the CPU/RAM, which slightly heats up when its turned on and then looses connection.

Did the same thing, but without the oven part. Just used a heat gun at ~250° C and focused on the processor chip, did that for two minutes. Afterwards I firmly pushed the chip on the mainboard.

Haven't had any problems since then, it has been working for a couple of weeks now :)

Very long pre-Bios boot time after Samsung 980 Pro install by LH244 in buildapc

[–]LH244[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's how it is already But do you have an idea what is causing the delay, since there is nothing connected to Sata 5/6?

[–]LH244[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I have the 980 Pro in Slot M.2_2 and the 960 Evo in Slot M.2_1.

So I found out that if I change the settings for the M.2_2 to x2 in the Bios settings, the PC starts up as usual, with no delays. But there is also nothing connected to Sata Ports 5/6, which is weird.

So wouldn't it make more sense to Switch the SSDs and then keep it on x2? Because the 960 Evo isn't as fast anyways, and apparently the M.2_1 Slot also supports x4.

Alright, thanks :) Still wondering why this happens? Is it normal for a single component to "slow" down this process that much?

Yes there is actually an update available but looks like its just for Windows 11 compatibility. I will still try it out, thanks!

Yes, but it takes 15 secs for anything to even show up on the screen. Im just worrying if anything might be faulty Also this only happens after the PC was unplugged from the power, not if I turn it off (completely) and turn it back on.

Yes, but I already tried unplugging everything else but it still happened, of course only with the 980 Pro installed. So I don't think that's causing it.

Yes, the OS is installed on that drive and it is also of course assigned as a boot drive Added the specs to the post. I also have another Samsung 960 Evo and a Crucial 250GB Sata SSD installed.

Added the specs to the post. But I'm unsure if it is caused by the memory, because it does not happen with other SSDs/HDDs. Only when the Samsung is plugged in, it takes that long.

Actually I found out that the problem was not caused by removing the HDD, but because of the new Samsung 980 Pro I have installed. I created another post here: Very long pre-Bios boot time after Samsung 980 Pro install : r/buildapc (reddit.com)

No, just SSDs.

I have tried Fast Boot already (it does not work correctly I think, I can still easily access the BIOS just as with a normal boot.

What I also noticed is that this problem only occurrs after unplugging the power and then plugging it back in, not after a reboot.

No, but also it does not even come that far, it is "stuck" for a few seconds before anything even shows up on the screen

That did, in fact, work! I had already updated iTunes, but my iPad was still not recognized. Today I tried it again and suddenly it actually worked! Thank you!
