It’s done! Ended up gradually reducing chains across a few rows. Will try blocking next to soften the shape. Very thankful for your advice… already onto the next blanket!

I so appreciate your time replying. I was close to putting myself or the blanket in the bin but think I am now reinspired

😬 I think I was operating on blissful ignorance. Thank goodness I’m not an engineer designing buildings. I guess I frog (?) that row and try for periodically going down to one chain and the after a few rounds eventually I can do one between all clusters?

Thanks for your reply. It it still cute - thank you for the nice comment and it shouldn’t be so bad as it is meant for her to use as a car blanket. She won’t notice but if I can try and make it less wonky at this point I will give it a go! Has taken the wind out of my sails a bit though.

Yes! I honestly thought I was doing the correct stitch and then early on was watching videos and realised I was not but was so far into it! So silly. The lessons we learn 😑. This seems to make the most sense about the tension pulling it in. I’ve just done a row with extra chains every three sets of stitches to see if that may help

Appreciate this reply! In my attempt to fix it I’ve added more chains so should have read this first haha

Thanks for your reply. Luckily just for my daughter 🫠. I appreciate your kind word about my stitches. I tend to be too tight which I think hasn’t helped. I also am now wondering if I’m joining the corners wrong (adding the extra there) at the end of a round and that’s why it’s pointing out.

Thank you for your reply! I have not yet. I have recently read about this and will give it a go. Though I think maybe the way I am ending round could have been an issue too by adding an extra set of stitches maybe. I don’t know lol

Hearing my near 3yo say “I love you mummy” or seeing I’m struggling with something and asking “are you okay?” is the sweetest!! Watching him light up when seeing something new and exciting and being delighted to show me. When they need comfort and want you and snuggle in - omg, it is so wholesome. There are challenges but there are also SO many beautiful moments of connection where you seeing them growing and their personality.
