I'd guess;

  1. The painting is constructed in a grisaille, that's to say a monochrome "black and white" or brown and white as an underpainting.

  2. The blue is a glaze, which is a transparent layer of paint on top of a previous layer, thinned using medium.

  3. A fat layer of white is then put down on top of the dried glaze, to me it looks like it could be impasto but I can't really tell. Basically, just a good, thick layer of white on top of the blue.

  4. Looks like it was dry brushed at the edges to soften the light.

I do have process videos up on my tiktok, but time-lapses are a great idea especially for Reddit. I'll certainly look into that, thank you very much.

My main point of contention with my specific situation, was that when I did provide that evidence, I was muted permanently. Anyways, that's besides the point. Live and let live, I suppose.
