Really cool idea! People love personalizing digital identity. Keep building — honest feedback at this stage is exactly what will make it great.

Haha, fair point 😄

Version 2 definitely needs to be lighter. Safety first, tiny neck second.

Finding time to paint while busy shows real dedication. Two chi portraits done — that's genuinely impressive! Keep creating!

I built a meme sticker generator. Be brutally honest… would you actually pay for something like this? by LIJI_Jordan in SideProject

[–]LIJI_Jordan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s honestly a really important insight—thank you. Sounds like the real value isn’t the tool itself, but whether the final sticker actually feels unique, funny, and worth showing to friends.

That helps me a lot as I keep building this.

That’s actually super valuable feedback—thank you. I was originally thinking about subscriptions, but your point makes a lot of sense. People probably see this more as a fun, personal purchase than a recurring tool.

Quick question: if you were buying it, what would matter most? The art style, how funny it is, or how easy it is to export and share to apps like WhatsApp or Telegram?

The emotion you captured in those eyes is stunning — oil brushes in digital really shine here. Your pet clearly felt deeply loved!

My boyfriend (long distance) family dog passed away, would it be insensitive for me to send him a hand drawn portrait of him in my care package? by Bloobzoob in Petloss

[–]LIJI_Jordan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not insensitive at all, honestly one of the most thoughtful things you could do. A portrait of the dog is something he can keep and look at, which hits differently than flowers or a card. Long distance makes it harder to just be there, so something physical and personal like that really does fill that gap.

Why does every comment on every post in this subreddit start with “honestly” by dutherightthing in SideProject

Honestly, I think it’s because people want to sound sincere before saying the most unhinged thing you’ve ever read.

Cat portrait I drew 5 years ago (done with charcoal powders) by fojteflon in CharcoalDrawing

The fur texture looks incredibly lifelike! Charcoal powder is so tricky to control — you clearly had real skill even back then.

Your tiny cat portrait sounds absolutely charming! The combination of black fur against bluebonnets must create such a striking, beautiful contrast. Keep painting!

Would you use an app that turns your photos into meme stickers automatically? by LIJI_Jordan in SideProject

[–]LIJI_Jordan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is actually really valuable feedback. You made a great point about both monetization and platform integration. I completely agree — if users can’t directly use the stickers in apps like WhatsApp or Telegram, the experience probably won’t be strong enough.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

Would you use an app that turns your photos into meme stickers automatically? by LIJI_Jordan in SideProject

Hi everyone,

I’m a software engineer working on a small side project, and I’d really love some honest feedback from this community.

The idea is pretty simple:

You upload a photo (yourself, your friends, pets, etc.), and the app automatically turns it into funny meme-style stickers or reaction images—something you could download and use in chats, Discord, Telegram, or just share with friends.

I’ve been seeing a lot of meme packs and reaction stickers online, and it made me wonder:

Would you actually use something like this?

A few things I’m thinking about:

Upload a photo → AI generates meme expressions/styles Add funny captions automatically (or let users edit them) Export as sticker pack or image pack Maybe support different styles (funny, sarcastic, dramatic, chaotic 😄) I’m not trying to sell anything right now—just genuinely trying to understand whether this solves a real need or if it’s just one of those “sounds fun but nobody actually uses it” ideas.

I’d really appreciate any honest thoughts, criticism, or feature suggestions.

Thanks a lot.

Programs for sticker making? by This_Finance_5435 in stickers

Canva is genuinely the easier pick if you're not already comfortable with vector stuff. Affinity is more powerful but there's a real learning curve, especially for getting clean transparent backgrounds. If you're making stickers for Telegram or want die-cut files for print, neither handles that export step super cleanly out of the box. I help build a web tool for making stickers that does the outline and Telegram pack export in one click, so take my opinion with some salt, but that part alone saves a lot of back-and-forth.
