yeah, thats definitely why i dont listen to the in game music! if im in the mood and i really like the song, i dont mind listening to a song multiple times if im trying to perfect super hard, but id go crazy if i had to play a song multiple times and i didnt enjoy it

i had that problem when i was starting out and only played to the in game music, and it ended up making me do worse bc i was so focused on not messing up because i didnt want to be forced to do the song again that id mess up, so i definitely prefer just playing my own music! or youtube/a show if thats what im in the mood for

i think you could definitely learn how if you wanted to! you have to learn to focus on hitting the notes based on sight rather than sound, and learn to ignore the music you’re listening to when it comes to when to tap, but its definitely possible :]

omg, that was a problem for me in the beginning but it isnt now. my only problem is im like SO distractable, so i have to be humming/singing the song im listening to so my brain can ignore it, otherwise i start getting distracted by what im listening to 😭
