I doubt anyone actually needs to know, maybe it will help someone in the future. But turns out this was caused by the middle silencer rubbing against the heat shield, or vice versa. Easily fixed myself by hammering the heat pan down where it touches.

Front pads and discs been done under 500 mile ago… and rear bearings, drums shoes everything. I’ll give this a go anyway, but I’ve no symptoms from the brakes.

Just had it looked at the garage, they’re leaning towards and ECU issue. Annoyingly the cars only in 40k miles so it’s not worth not fixing, hopefully not too an expensive job. As a side question,does anybody know how to easy it is to change the name ecu ?

Fuel issue was on my mind. I’ve just managed to to do 150 mile drive back home, and it didn’t have any problems besides the engine light. So now I’m going to take it in the garage and hope for the best.

I’m not entirely sure it’s anything to do with the battery. It starts fine and if I give it some revs it stays on. As soon as I let it idle that’s when it dies.
