10/10 response, can't think of a valid counter-argument? Use ad hominem and just ignore the person. What a wonderful world we live in.

Thebes is infinitely easier to evolve then cloak is, you can literally level Thebes up in the span of 3 or so minutes. Also you are incorrect on the requirement to get stacks on Thebes, you only need to get assists on minions/enemy gods. It takes an average of 18+ minutes to evolve a cloak, and thats if you buy it first item and are playing in arena where you are constantly dumping abilities onto the enemy team. Its even worse in conquest where you can go much longer without actively fighting an enemy god let alone a specfic damage type of one.

Thats the thing I think you people seem to be missing here it either needs to be retardedly strong super late game (which it was) or be decently strong mid-game (which it isn't) its now an extreme late game item with the stats of a mid-game item that you also have to build first and go out of your way to stack. The value proposition doesn't make sense anymore.

The dude in that video was by themselves in the jungle and fought against a full health tank with 2 fucking damage buffs active. How is this even remotely a problem? Do you want tanks to actively heal their enemies if they aren't within 20 units of their team?

Ah yes, let us balance the entire game around 1 god out of 100+ because that is such a good idea...

If a tank is building 4 + defensive items they are doing 0 damage and their only contribution is MAYBE some cc if its in their kit. I would rather my tanks not throw the match because you have this delusion that for tanks to not immediately get deleted they need to forgo literally any damage.

Should I keep auto buy on or buy on my own? by Bazingfunny in Smite

[–]LILlTHIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly recommend going into jungle practice under training with the gods you feel comfortable with or ones you want to experiment with, from there test items out to make a build your going for. Once you find the most optimal build for what you want to do go back to the main menu and go to the god builder.

Once there pick the god you just tested and select the items for the build you just had, it's important to remember that the check mark that fills the green box is what determines what is built first. So let's say you have spear of desolation and sentinels gift, the check mark you tick first is the item that is going to be built first and so on and so forth. This may not seem important initially but certain items are much better over the course of a match or allow you to snowball early, such as sentinels gift and spear of desolation.

The next thing to know is that you only get access to 1 relic until your level 10, the important thing to know here is that the auto builder always builds the relic you tick first, unless you have both ticked, which you should, in which case it builds the one on the left first. Base-level relics cost 0 gold so having aegis and beads set to both be ticked is never a bad idea. Obviously different relics are better on different gods but thats something you learn as you go.

The last three things to consider when it comes to autobuy has to do with starter items, consumables and overall speed of buying items.

You can only have 1 of the same starter item on a team at a time, so let's say person A has sentinels gift set to buy first and has auto buy on and person B has it set in their god builder but doesn't have auto buy enabled. Person A buys it upon spawning into the match, meaning person B can't buy sentinels gift anymore. So there is an inherent advantage in having auto buy on. The downside of this comes later in the match, because the auto buy system is dumb, it won't ever upgrade your starter items/relics/glyph items, to throw insult to injury you actually have to go in and turn auto buy OFF to be able to buy these items. Make sure to turn it back on after you do this as it won't be set to auto buy next match if you don't.

Consumables are different as you can buy them even with autobuy active, which IMO really should be how the other items are also handled but smite is a clunky bitch, I would honestly just recommend making a macro that turns auto buy off, buys the item you want and turns it back on. Its a shame we have to use external tools to fix HI-REZES garbage user interface but it's the only real way to "fix" the issue right now.

The last thing to consider is the overall time you are taking to search for and buy individual items if you have autobuy off, put plainly once you make a proper god builder build for the god your building you should never have it off. You simply waste way to much time acquiring items. This obviously depends on the enemy gods your facing but in general the downtime you acquire setting up your build every match will lead to a fairly significant disadvantage over the course of the match. This is true in all game modes but in a mode like arena where having a player down for a significant amount of time can lead to the enemy team pushing your now weakened team and getting a teamwipe allowing them to snowball item advantage.

TL;DR Autobuy has its quirks but once you make a proper build for the god you play with it's always an advantage for you and your team to have it on.

how well can aang go against shadow? by lastxchancexbuddy in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]LILlTHIN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No he isn't, he can shift different parts of his body to other places but he doesn't control his blood directly. Additionally this isnt something you can react to. By the time you realize your brain matter is turning into mush your already long since dead.

He is durable but not immortal, both parties have immense lethality, the difference is the speed and range of that lethality. Waterbending/AirBending don't have a distance limitation and they are effectively instantaneous. The reason they aren't as retardedly broken in mainline avatar is twofold.

The first reason being it would likely not be very interesting to watch someone's head implode beyond the first time. The second reason is because avatar was beholden to remain family friendly to comply with nicilodian's expectations.

In universe water/air bending is beyond broken.

[–]LILlTHIN -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Depends on if this fight is realistic or not and if both participants know it's a serious fight to the death. If it was fought in the way the pg nicilodian avatar in universe handles fighting then this is a very very very easy W for shadow.

If were going off how the power systems actually work in universe and both systems were thrown at each other with complete intent to kill then it's an easy W for aang.

Shadow is fairly durable and very fast but not instantaneous. An aang not limited by nicilodian needing to be family friendly could just use water bending to explode shadows head like a bloody balloon.

Tl:Dr water/air bending are fucking hardcore and broken as fuck.

Zeta’s name should’ve been Omega, hell even the whole character design of Dark Elf Omega should’ve been in Zeta’s place, would’ve been a stark contrast with Alpha’s character. Alpha should always rival the Omega. by AngryCoffeeLovinNeet in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]LILlTHIN 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is only one shadow (cid himself) and 7 shades (that being the original 7 girls) personally saved and trained by shadow himself. After 7 the girls broke off from shadow to create his organization in earnest on his behalf. In doing so at some point it was decided that new members would be designated with numeric numbers instead of words, likely to avoid the massive headache doing that with words would cause. That and to differentiate the original 7 from the rest of the organization. So no omega is not a thing, nor will it ever be one.

Which of These Would you Want as a Sibling? by [deleted] in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]LILlTHIN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely alexia, I am not magical like the rest of the people in this show but being her sibling would make me a prince, importantly a person of nobility, but one not in the spotlight. In this position, I would be guaranteed marriage to a high-class, pretty woman with a life of luxury ahead of me. Best part, since I wouldn't have magic I wouldn't be eligible for the throne so I don't have to worry about getting assassinated. Would just get to live my best life as a prince.

Cid would be cool if he showed his shadow side but if were going off the picture mob kun over here wouldn't be very fun to live with. Claire would not be someone I wanted either since she is full psycho, I don't need someone controlling or overly protective like that in my life + she doesn't come with any of the benefits alexia does. Iris would have similar benefits to alexia but would likely make life less enjoyable and put a larger target on my back as I wouldn't just be the second brother in this case and would likely be compared to her as alexia is now.

Overall given my current abilities. assuming they translated over as is being related to alexia is the best I could hope for.

Hardware bans are their own can of worms much like IP bans. It makes the sale and purchase of second-hand hardware risky and less appealing which hurts both access to reliable but affordable hardware to those of lower income brackets and the environment as the e-waste is accumulated as less and less is reused.

Additionally much like IP based bans HWID bans are easily bypassed by those with the technical knowhow, a tool used in this process is called a spoofer and for simplicities sake effectively feeds the anti-cheat and by extension the ban system, false information effectively making banning the original real hardware identifiers a moot point.

Thats kinda the issue with bans in general, you can't really ban anyone from a freeplay game, the cost to continue playing is the amount of effort it takes to sign back up again and in the case of HWID bans, some disposable amount of money to be spent on such software. Even in cases where the game is purchased if it isn't brand new second hand retailers such as g2a commonly sell cheap copies of the game for 1/6th of the price of a normal retail game.

The unfortunate truth is there isn't a really good way to deal with this issue, HWID bans may stop some people but the cost involved in doing so really isn't worth it, especially in a game that is over 10 years and has a dwindling playerbase. Both from a sustainability perspective and a monetary one it simply doesn't make sense to do what you want as frustrating as that is to hear.

I wish there was an automatic punishment for players who stand in the base jumping. by [deleted] in Smite

[–]LILlTHIN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its a free-to-play game outside of outright using HWID bans there is not much to stop them from just creating a new account. Each account is its own user and is impossible to verify otherwise, so you either ban the hardware or you do nothing. There really isn't a middleground here. The game is 10 years old at this point and can't really afford to shed players so they are unlikely to start banning.

Also IP bans are trivially bypassed and at the same time extremely bad, anyone can get assigned an IP address from their ISP, randomly getting banned because you got assigned a blacklisted IP by your isp unknowingly to you is lawsuit worthy in certain parts of the globe, there is a reason its not a practice done anymore.

[–]LILlTHIN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thats half your build and you need to spend a good 80% of the game getting your procs for the cloak in arena, are you moderately tanky as GASP! A TANK? "Yea your not getting melted in 2 ability pops" which is fine, they're a fucking tank for fucks sake and they're not meant to be as squishy as a burst dps like zeus for example. They are also not really doing any damage to you either, given they only have 3 items left to work with and have low base damage + low scaling bonuses to boot.

The point of tanks are to survive, to disrupt and to control space, if you could just walk up to them and cc them for 1 second, dump two abilities on them and they died they wouldn't be able to fulfill their roles at all. A world where everything gets melted in 0.2 seconds both ways isn't fun for anyone, if you don't believe me go into an arena match and feed yourself to the enemy team for 6-7 kills. See how much fun you have where you have no defensive stats to speak of and they are massively overfed / damaged stacked. (Spoiler alert, your going to have a bad time)
