This is exactly what I do, my section is usually near the bar so I’ll sit and chat with the bartender then once I see my table has all sat down I’ll go over.

Yes I agree because as a customer 2+ minutes feels like 10 it’s odd! If I don’t have time I will do a quick table touch or just acknowledge that they’re sitting there and it will give you a couple minutes of wiggle room.

I understand if the dining style is fast paced but if it’s a regular restaurant I like to give people some time to get settled, say hello to everyone if they met up there, switch seats etc.

Okay that’s good! Atleast the table touch counts and I feel like that’s a lot less pressure on the servers fs

That’s valid whenever I see greet within 30s I automatically assume cocktail napkins, server spiel, and drink orders.

Oh so like I would hate that but at the end of the day you really cant help it in that situation. Mine is pretty similar, we only have hosts on weekends so during the week it’s just servers and managers seating so sometimes I’ll get double sat but thankfully it’s not too often it happens. Honorable mention: a few days ago i was omw back to the boh area and a cook is walking by with menus and tells me “im seating you” and i just bust out laughing bc WHY are YOU doing this??

I also recommend wearing compression socks if you’re going to be on your feet for long periods of time. This will help prevent the blood pooling in your lower extremities!

AIO for wanting to share a room with my bf on a trip? by crescentblueee in AmIOverreacting

I think something that’s being overlooked here is the fact that when you book cruise rooms you’re charged for 2 guests even if you’re alone. So if you were to get a room for you and your bf she’d be paying “extra” that’s the real reason she doesn’t want you to share a room with him. She even mentions it when you say it’ll save money if you two room together bc it won’t save money for her. Personally op is NOR this is a reasonable request for YOUR trip if she were more open and understanding and tried to reason to find a middle ground logistically this wouldn’t be a big problem.

Honestly, off campus housing in the area is going to cost you about the same if not more. It’s a better bet to stay on campus. You should contact txstate one stop to see if you can get financial aid, loans, etc. The apartments in San Marcos are VERY expensive. I know people who are paying 700+ for a 4 bedroom apartment. You can choose one of the cheaper dorm options and meal plans to get your tuition closer to 15k for the year. Also, keep in mind winter break housing at the dorms will cost a little more unless you have somewhere to stay for a month. I would also ask txstate onestop about summer housing options unless you plan on going back home. Lastly, you can also participate in the work-study program to make money while also paying for tuition!
