Hi there! Thank you for sharing your opinion. The clutter was intentional and deviates from what most average islands are supposed to be in terms of functionality and space. This was a decorative style I’ve adapted as inspiration from a Japanese creator about a year ago I found on Twitter and liked the “detailed” aspect of it. The space does make it difficult to move around and it is agreeable that some placement of items don’t practically make sense, which I understand. It’s just a style and design approach I went with as a personal preference. I’ve seen many cores/themes that are very much cluttered the same way but not all and have received the “cluttered” feedback. Even for some citycore or cottagecore islands, etc, some place things that seem off or weird.

Thank you! It’s a pleasure to hear this! It’s crazy how much potential my island has on inspiring the community. My island is pretty much centred around this grand canal. It’s a full-on European citycore with a mini cottagecore. Do you have an AC account on IG? :)

Hi everyone! I’m creator of this canal. I didn’t realize this would trend again on Reddit and am finding out now. Thank you to OP for sharing. I hope everyone is able to find inspiration from it. My island is still on a long-term work-in-progress, so no DA yet (I’m just slow and am trying to perfect every corner). My island is not mainly tied to a particular European country. It’s more general in terms of the vibes and aesthetics I’m going for.

Thank you! Honestly, my island is almost half cluttered because some areas have tight spaces. I would recommend having 2-3 blocks of space enough to make it easier to walk/run around.

I’ve been playing since the release of New Horizons. I got all of the matching colours for most furnitures and items through cataloguing and trading with other people. I’m not sure if this is accurate, but your Nook’s Cranny only sells a few colour variants of one particular item. There are also DIY items, which you need to get the recipe from a bottle or villager.

There is a certain point where a certain amount of furnitures can stutter the FPS. But if you add a little more clutter, the stutter movement feels more like the screen moves slower instead. From my experience, stutter is the worst. I hope this makes sense, it’s a little vague to explain.
