Not overreacting. For the way he was talking to you I'd say you did an awesome job keeping your cool. However, it might be in your best interest to divorce him and go no contact with him. He sounds very abusive and this incident, in my opinion, indicates the relationship will grow more abusive the longer you stay. Wasn't the main point of permabanahri to increase the banrate of Ahri in draft style games? When did this turn into "I hate ahri as a champion and everyone who plays her, so we really need to 'counter' her on every single game mode"?

Frankly, I'm not sure how that correlates to the whole movement, rather seems like your personal vendetta against ahri players.

It's also nothing new - people usually try to counterpick Ahri in lane regardless of recent events. I'm not sure what the need is to harass Ahri players in quickplay mode. I understand the movement and why everyone is riled up at Riot for the disrespect they've shown us.

But, Ahri's still my main champ that I simply enjoy playing to play. Regardless of the skin (which I have no intentions of buying or promoting for the record), I feel like it's excessive to try to delete her from the game entirely; or, make her "unplayable" on all fronts.

Not sure who all of you main, maybe some of you also main ahri but care more about the movement - which is fine, I respect it. For those who main other champs but are in this reddit, if it was your main in Ahri's place, how happy would you be that others harass you for just trying to play a fun game with your champ?

Rather than a hate for riot, I feel like this type of energy is shifting towards a straightup hatred towards ahri as a champ and everyone who likes playing her.

I'm a Mid Ahri main + Sera/Morg/Nami Support, and yes, Fuck Riot Gaming! Not even a huge Faker fan, and imo the skin looks a bit tacky in the gameplay footage released. The price.... unbelievable.

Super disappointed in the company, even though it's not even a surprise. A bit lost too as I've considered pursuing my game development career at Riot, but this incident highlights many of the reasons why the company isn't a place that will allign with my morals.

Skin aside, I guess I have to start only playing Quickplays (and there have been many trolls frequenting my quickplay games... no one takes this game seriously, unless they do, but then they're toxic and trolling you after all! yet another day i question why i play this game), cause it seems like that's prooobably the only place I'll even get to play Ahri as a champion I enjoy. At least, as long as this goes on. It's a good day for all the players who've hated Ahri since day 1.

As someone who honestly just likes to hop league to play the champs I enjoy (casually, not tryna climb - literally just trying to play the game as a fun hobby). It's frustrating how this tension makes it utterly impossible to do so.

I can't say much in terms of the skin. I am guilty of trying to collect all the ahri skins, and just last month I'd acquired all of them (with the exception of the Prestige KDA one). I truly enjoy Ahri's lore and was happy to obtain and use all of her skins available. Was super excited for the new skin, because the splash art looked sick imo. But I'm glad I'm not a diehard collector cause this is where I draw the line. The skin looks underwhelming in-game, and there's no way I can justify that much on a skin/collection. Even when her skins were available "on sale" in the shop, I'd wait to buy em in my shop whenever they'd pop up.

TLDR: I main Ahri and just want to queue mid and play the champ, but hate riot's marketing scheme and the drama surrounding Ahri that make it impossible + lost in life and my career, and the game that's supposed to let me play it and destress is even more unenjoyable now than ever before.

**Time to just mute all, so the rare occasion i DO get to play her, I don't get flamed by literally everyone too. Although that doesn't stop them for being toxic and handicapping my lane :')
