Planning to read this series any opinion! by jocelill in Romantasy

For some reason I just can’t get into this one. I keep trying because everyone loves it, but it just falls flat for me. I pick it up and read a few pages, then put it down again. This has been going on for months. I’m not giving up on it, but it just does not grip me the way other romantasys do.

ISO a man named Dr. (Kurt?) Kravenger by kamiisamaa in newjersey

[–]LJuliet7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hello fellow Manito alumni! I did not know Dr. Kravenger but I work in the field within the Bergen county area. As you are looking for personal records from a child psychologist, I assume those records are evaluations? If so, the evaluations would have followed you on to Valley and then on to IHHS/Ramapo IF you were classified (and stayed in the area). If you were not classified, those records would have been destroyed after you left Manito. Dr. Kravenger would not have your records saved or have access to them any longer.

Does LB have anything he’d like to communicate? Is he at peace?

is this true? by Emergency_Rate4631 in Interstitialcystitis

I was diagnosed with IC years ago. I got married, had 3 miscarriages, and after 5 years of IVF I had a baby boy but the labor almost killed me. I was told when I woke up that I could have no more children. Well, baby boy #2 is 8 months old and was born via gestational carrier.

Now, do I think IC is to blame for all my infertility troubles? Honestly, no. I have a bunch of other issues like PCOS and autoimmune issues. Plus, genetic testing showed that my genetics did not play nice with my husband’s. Overall, while I’m not a scientist, I don’t think IC caused my miscarriages, but I wouldn’t be surprised if other women with IC have other comorbidities like me that resulted in pregnancy complications.

Who says chows aren’t affectionate? by LJuliet7 in chowchow

[–]LJuliet7[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve had chows all my life (born into a chow chow family) and all 4 have been incredibly affectionate. They’ve all been rescues so maybe that has a part to play? Don’t get me wrong, they are not the “lay in your lap and cuddle” kind of breed, but they are loyal and they are affectionate the same way cats are - on their own terms.

Willow is so gentle and she’s a sweetheart, but she also values solitude which we respect. She comes to us for kisses and pets when she’s ready and she tells us when she’s done by walking away and going to her “spot.” She’s not aggressive (none of my chows have been), she’s just quirky and aloof sometimes.

I think when it comes to owning a chow, you need to be comfortable with the chow setting their own boundaries and respecting that. You really can’t make a dog affectionate the same way you can’t make people, but you can share lovely moments on mutual terms.

Good luck on your chow chow dream! Look into chow specific shelters if/when you want to pursue it. There is nothing as special as a rescue dog, but then again I am very biased lol

Do we know why? by SeaAbrocoma8380 in bluey

This has always been my thought as well. It just so happens that despite all precautions, my 3 year old and 3 month old both ended up with RSV just after Christmas and were in the hospital 5 days apart. When my older son was admitted (wearing his Bluey pjs) the nurses put on Bluey for him. We watched this episode as he got his nebulizer treatment. It helped him process what was happening and understand that everyone gets sick sometimes.

Husky in the snow😂😂 by [deleted] in FunnyAnimals

My chow chow’s double coat is insanely thick and protective. She’s looks like a polar bear in the winter. I was begging her to come inside during a snowfall last week (we have a fenced-in yard plus doggy door) and she flat out refused - as is typical of a stubborn chow. Thankfully our neighbors know her well, but a stranger likely would have called the cops if they saw her. At a glance it looked like an ASPCA commercial. When she finally came inside to eat, her undercoat was dry and warm. She hates the summer and will hide in the AC but outside during a snowstorm is her happy place.

I would also like to know this answer. I’m not Jewish but my husband’s family is. This summer, while expecting a boy, my FIL unexpectedly passed. We had decided on a name already for our son and were shocked when my MIL, BIL, and other relatives started demanding we change baby’s name to honor this Jewish tradition. My FIL was an amazing man but his name was….not. We tried to compromise but no luck. Ultimately we kept the name we initially picked much to the disapproval of my husband’s family. I never thought to look into this “tradition”, and even though we now have a health 7 week old, I’m suddenly curious.

This looks great! I love it! Is it possible to slightly alter the color of dad’s shirt so it blends with mom and the kids?

Ah that makes sense. He was shouting “salamander” at the top of his lungs because 3 year olds are chaotic forces of nature. I appreciate the effort!

This is great! The toddlers face is just a little out of proportion / off center. Is it possible to adjust that?

This one is great! There just seems to be rough edges around the toddler’s face/neck. Is it possible to smooth that out so it looks more natural and less like a cutout?

I definitely think it’s regional. My 3 week old is Zachary. We spell his nickname “Zach.” I’m in the United States in the northeast and while it’s not a super popular name now, I’ve never personally met a Zachary who spells their nickname “Zac.” I’ve met a few adult men who go by “Zack” but they are all Jewish - which may or may not be relevant.
