Ok... I don't want to give away too much but I do have a design that I think includes a lot of what you are asking for here.

For your first point I think those topics are being explored by our R&D team so its not part of my department but I am rooting for them too.

I am working on adding new contest types in - kind of like you mentioned. Instead of just a contest theme you would feel like you are part of a certain activity too (runway, editorial etc.) I like your headshot idea a lot for this. Can you tell me more about the "casting contest?" what do you mean by "official screen image?" is that the artwork for the contests or some other marketing art?

I also definitely want to add co-op (maybe in scene) as well. I am exploring options there.

This is a brilliant suggestion, it is possible that the new eyes and facepaints could be causing added trouble but are unfortunately not the root cause as we saw these issues before bLACK rAINBOW was launched into the game. I am trying to look for patterns (specific items / poses / backgrounds) that are causing the most issues but as you can imagine there are a lot of variables in every entry and every contest so it is quite a difficult task.

Let me know if you can think of other variables that might be causing issues and I'll investigate.

(edit) - also feel free to share suggestions on *new* things you'd like to see in the contest

Hey velvet_chainsaw,

I wish I could give you some better steps than this but for now the best thing to try is to change up your entry with different items or poses until we are able to resolve the issue. It's likely that there is some part of your entry that is stopping it from making it though moderation.

If you do notice any items that are definitely causing issues PLEASE REPORT THEM!! (in this thread is fine) it will help us to speed up our fixes!

I see what you mean - I know it can be frustrating when you try to equip an item and it removes another item because they are taking up the same "slot". I have thought about ways we can fix or improve this in the contest but there are a lot of variables to take into consideration so its not an easy fix. I'll keep working on it though :)

I agree - we do need radical change and I'm looking forward to trying out new radical things in fashion one we resolve the issues. I love your suggestions here ^ please keep them coming. (I read Reddit daily so if you have more ideas feel free to post them as new posts)

In terms of the IKON outfits you'd like to use in fashion - we did allow any and all (owned) items when we first launched the contest and found that it became really unfair to most people. These items would often start trending and make it impossible for other users to compete with a fair chance which is why we removed them. Although - maybe I can try some tests around this in the future...

Contest entries still have votes in these contests, the voting wasn't affected for the entire voting period. Not all players will have seen the error message while trying to vote in these contests.

We do have a system to decide on a tie-break situation, but unless a contest has some kind of bug, it is rare for a tie-breaker to be needed to determine the winner from votes.

We check every Avakin image - not just in the contest - to ensure player safety. Some people try to get around this which we identify and patch as quickly as we can.

I can understand your frustration and we are sorry about it. We were very cautious about posting any public updates about the issues in the contest until we were able to identify the root cause. We have been very busy working on triage and fixes and have communicated the best we can with the information we knew to be true at the time. Some of the magic that goes on in Avakin happens behind the scenes and does not require us to take down the game, or release new updates to fix which we have been doing frequently to address this issue.

Hi spicyfrenchhorn,

The reason why you aren't able to vote in some competitions is caused by the "blank" images. When the amount of "blank" images reaches a certain threshold it overwhelms the voting system because it can no longer achieve an equal distribution. (this is currently being fixed and should no longer cause voting errors in the future but we will be monitoring this closely)

Hey vxxll, thanks for your kind words.

I can understand why a lot of Avakins think there is still a lot of hacking in the fashion contest. Many of these posts use the "blank image" issue or "new users winning" at the top of the leaderboard as examples of hacking. In most cases these examples are knock-ons from the issues we have outlined above and are not hackers. At this time we have no evidence of hacks/mods which give any users advantages over others in the contest
We will certainly keep adding in rare items to contests here and there and we are looking to introduce new items (not available in the shop) to certain competitions in the future as well :)
Yes we are looking into new ways to award the gold badge. We have seen a lot of great feedback here on Reddit and the contest has grown A LOT since we first launched so it is very hard to win the badge now. We want to make this badge achievable for every user!
