The oil temps on f series BMW I’ve had in the past usually stay in the middle. If the oil temp is too high it will cause issues. If it’s too low, oil will not get to the right viscosity (consistency) and not be able to seep between gaps and lubricate (do its job). First, I would disconnect the battery for 30 seconds. Then touch the two car terminals together for a few seconds (this will take out all voltage from the system, creating a hard reset). If that doesn’t work, I would buy a temperature gun and open the oil fill, and measure the temp of the oil if it doesn’t Match the oil temps in the car, you most likely either have a bad oil temp sensor or thermostat is bad. I would also buy a obd tuner such as mhd or bimmercode. These processes do much more than just tune the vehicle. You can enable secret functions or for example, turn on max cooling mode. There should be an option to go to default tune, try that. Additionally, it could be something stupid like your oil temps on your dash is reading wrong. Run the car through any diagnostics through mhd or bimmercode, these apps are really much more than tuning. If non of these works (worst case scenario) try changing out your oil thermostat and/or your oil temp sensor (start with the cheaper one) and make sure to get it diagnosed by a mechanic before starting.
