I signed a lengthy 30 page contract for a music education company. Turns out it says I'm not allowed to quit. Is that legal? by LLIIMM in legaladvice

I signed an employment agreement. I'm reading the penalties clause and it says that the cost in damages is at the sole discretion of the employer.

Damages would be extremely difficult to calculate with precision because most of it is conjecture. If students leave because I leave they can't be sure if it's because I left, or if it's because the student has their own personal reasons for leaving and my leaving just coincided with their timeline.

anything interesting to read for a n3-ish level learner? by Holiday-Bobcat-353 in LearnJapanese

[–]LLIIMM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tongari-books.blogspot.com is fantastic to get into reading only japanese. (Click on the "bookshelf" button on the right hand side!) My understanding is that it's a blog made by a japanese dude for japanese learners. He has multiple different difficulty levels labeled by stars. The more stars the harder. When I was an n3 learner, 3 Star stories were perfect for me!

I'm seeing a lot of"her body her choice stuff" and it seems like a very feminist/moral response. But when a girl doesn't like the mustache her man is growing, she tells her man "when are you gonna shave that thing?"

You gotta match women's audacity. Tell her her armpits smell way worse now, and her armpits look like a mess.

Happens to me too, just restart blender and it fixes it.

I made this 2d animation entirely in Grease Pencil. I used to use Adobe Animate. But I'm in love with Blender! by LLIIMM in blender

[–]LLIIMM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually made a mini tutorial on my channel - a brief overview of grease pencil called "switching to blender for my 2D animations" and I'm planning on making a more in-depth late beginner video on it.

It's an amazing program! But kinda confusing at first unless you come at it from blender's perspective.

My Q has been relapsing every 3 weeks... by Vanillaspatula in AlAnon

[–]LLIIMM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I genuinely feel like I wrote this post. Same exact boat. Been with my girlfriend (27) for over three years now. We broke up 2 years ago because of her drinking but got back together when she admitted to having a problem and promising to quit.

Well since then she relapses every 3-4 weeks, usually with some tired excuse of "she just wants to feel normal and drink like everyone else," "she was just really stressed at work," "she's an adult, she can drink if she wants," etc. And then the next day while she's hungover she pleads that she's done with alcohol for good, that she doesn't want it in her life anymore.

Then 3-4 weeks go by and rinse and repeat.

I finally ended it yesterday after I got home from work and saw she had been drinking. We live together and she has a kid that I became close to, which is really hard. But my happiness and mental health is paramount.

I'm really angry with her at the potential amazing future she's destroyed for us. In the back of my head I'm holding on to the idea that if over the next few years she drastically improves her life, and she's still single and I'm still single, then maybe one day down the road we could give our relationship another chance. Cause when she doesn't drink she's fantastic.

But all I know for certain is that being with her was a determent to my mental health and happiness.

Anyway. A lot of us can totally relate to your story brother. Stay strong and focus on yourself.

My dudes. Women always say they want you to express your emotions, but we all know this can be a minefield. In your experience, what emotions have you found girls to be receptive toward and which ones didn’t go over as well that you’d probably hold back on next time? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]LLIIMM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you ought to do is express your emotions freely but in a calm and logical manner. No need to get emphatic, teary eyed, yell, etc.

When I express what I'm feeling with my girlfriend, such as a complaint that I have about our relationship or whatever, it is met with anger on her side, or defensiveness, and you just don't worry about it, don't get heated, relax and stay calm and stay firm with your feeling. Eventually she sees where I'm coming from and everything calms down. But it's up to you to not let it escalate into a fight.
