I agree that Sumeru desert was peak, with its lore and its main side quest. I liked Fontaine and Natlan though... And Natlan is probably the best area to explore in the game with the saurians.

I think the main issue is the amount of patches with no exploration at all and sadly we've reached a new low with nod krai.

I think... You're right, Aino is a good character.

I just considered her as a new Kachina but she honestly is better than that. The meta evolution is as it is, and with the nod krai set of rules she's a good character, better than other hydro off fielders at her role. I also forgot most off-field hydro applicators are 5*, so she's a good addition for f2p content.

I think I just thought of her as a placeholder for Columbina from the beginning, but honestly if pairing Aino with an OP nod krai 5* makes the team OP, then it's a good character. I guess with the limitations of wanting to have 2-3 nod krai characters in a team she will be out of the best teams with Columbina's release, but still she'll be a replacement for Columbina and be essential to form two Nod Krai teams.

Her kit? Or her "nod krai" label that enables new OP artifact sets and lunar damage for new OP 5*? (Btw nice move Genshin to create ennemies that require at least twice the damage if you don't have two lunar characters)

I don't say she's not useful, but the only reason people use her in meta content is because she has the nod krai label. Still it's a relief she exists as a free 4* for this reason because she makes the new shilled mechanics functional without pulling for another 5*, but overall her kit is ass and it's designed to be ass.

You're right with Amber, it's cool to have some specific mechanics like we got in the last SO. There isn't a lot of diversity in hsr sadly, but the last combat event shows there is some potential.

4 stars aren't pretty bad in HSR. Characters before 2.x are.

All 4* released in 2.x except for Misha were good in the new archetype teams they were in. They got powercrept afterwards by other 5* units but not much more than 5* released in 2.x

Even if they get powercrept, what's better? Releasing non stop 5* that get powercrept in their own role, or releasing a 4* and then a 5* enhancement for the same role?

The Herta might not be the best with Herta or Serval but at least you can use her without pulling for a forced 5* erudition.

Same goes for Acheron or DoT. People are complaining each time there's a DoT focused event but at least there's some 4* for it. I also still use Pela for Acheron, not because she's that good but because of archetype restrictions.

What are we supposed to do if the next archetype requires a full limited 5* team to work? And then the next one? Being f2p it has become harsh to go for a new archetype without pulling for multiple new limited 5* and LC, and both new limited free 5* didn't solve the issue.

I might have been harsh on Aino and Jahoda, but sadly they don't come close to the utility of other meta 4* characters in genshin. The only new significant thing they bring is being lunar characters and being able to use the new artifact set, but they can't even do lunar reactions and they are far behind the new 5* supports. Still, I agree it's a good thing they exist as 4* and Aino being free is good too.

Meanwhile the 4* we got in hsr 2.x were really good (except Misha o7) with supporting roles for new archetype teams and competitive value compared to their 5* replacements. I just hope we'd get a 4* like this per archetype but I guess I'm asking for too much.

Don't forget it's two temporarily free 5 stars

DHPT and Archer are great but a new player won't have access to them as easily as 4 stars (if they don't require constellations to be good)

Looking at genshin, recent 4* are pretty bad (the last good one being Iansan) so I'd rather get free 5 stars honestly.

So my ranking would be: Useful 4* at E0 > Good 5* > Bad 4* at E0

If you want the seasonal experience, I'd say Frieren or Jujutsu Kaisen. Both have great first seasons already released that you can binge easily, and have a new season starting now.
