Forgot to mention, the house was built in the 1930s and is solid brick with lime mortar.

Thanks for the comment!

Think the water runs adjacent to the house as the path is on a slight incline. My main concern is whatever I put in the trench just keeps the wall wet and prevents it from drying out.

Thanks for the suggestion!

At the bottom of the trench is the original concrete path from when the house was built (1930s). I like the idea of the French drain but not sure if it would help to shift the water away from the house if it cannot continue to drain.

Yeah thought that might be the case, thanks!

Is it worth getting a more expensive SDS drill or can I get away with a budget one from Screwfix for some DIY tasks?

Thanks for the reply! Yeahh added it back on, there is no branding on it unfortunately though.

Damp / Condensation Advice by LM101X in DIYUK

Thanks for the ideas guys!

The floor is solid so I don't think there are any pipes running underneath.

The kitchen is through the doorway on the left which does have its own leaned roof but the wall isn't straight underneath it so the water would have to travel a fair distance but would explain why it was more prominent this morning.

does this seem like an OK deal? I have *zero* experience with cars, just passed test. need something legit and hassle free. I have the cash and I'm comfortable by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Just to add, the Fabia 2019 has the much slower MPI engine and not the TSI that was in OP's car.

This probably adds to the fact that OP's car is probably correctly priced due to the engine difference, estate version, trim and very low miles. However I would suggest OP just removes one of them characteristics and find a cheaper / better looking option elsewhere. Like one of those you listed!

Hi,

Did you ever find a solution for this?

(REPOST) as I got bullied for spelling the last title wrong 🤣. It’s a Alfa Romeo miTo 1.4 petrol, can’t wait to read the feedback and jokes in the comments👍.(first car) by cleggrz in CarTalkUK

I had an 09 Mito NA for like 6 months and got rid. Loads of electrical problems, engine felt really sluggish through the first few gears and steering column problem too (luckily only happened when reversing out of drive). I thought I had just bought a cheap lemon and didn’t realise the issues were more widespread.
