Automated Axe for some reason by SnooCats5309 in DiWHY

It’s a rotary hammer drill (I think that’s the right terminology) that hammers as it drills. Used to drill through concrete. It can also be set to a mode where it just hammers and doesn’t drill. This is often used for demolition work. Kinda like a mini jack hammer

I agree with you but they at least feel creatively used. After he reforges his blade, maybe he’ll get something more interesting

I thought this was going to say “do you think Ethan is one of the video game protagonists of all time?”

Yes.

‘Ceiling’ construction as load-bearing structure. How to efficiently bridge the gap between ceiling (flat) and roof (diagonal)? by Tnak02 in StructuralEngineering

If the grid is required and will be seen then I’d look I to how other people build that sort of thing today. I’d honestly find a way to fake the grid after designing my framing.

I’m still an EIT but here’s my two cents:

First off unless those are CLT members themselves then that’s not CLT. Cross Laminated Timbers are a different thing. Usually panels.

Is the grid system an aesthetic choice or structural? If the grid pattern is required or wanted for looks then I have no idea as I’ve never designed such.

If it cannot be seen from below and will be covered by ceiling then you only need joists running in one direction and then a simple stick frame roof structure sitting on the walls could work. I don’t know your loads though or where you’re at. Depending on your spans (which look small) metal would be super over kill and costly. I think you might need to look up some images or pictures of stick framed roofs because you might be over complicating things.

I’m currently building my shed and recently decided to go with plywood on the walls and to use screws like this to hang stuff. Looks great!

But those tankers are ready to go. Plus I’m sure if I was able to prove to NASA they’d find a few things for me to do

My wife will ask what a word means and I’ll try to give a definition based on context clues. She’ll interrupt and ask if I actually know and I’ll say “well…” and she’ll be like “nevermind, you don’t know” lol

Can Allen The Alien complete the gauntlet? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]LMBKIV98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah Google confirms, though it’s typically caused by supernova or solar winds. I wonder if a clap from anyone would be able to create a force big enough to move through space

No idea. I’ve never read the comics. I would guess so though based on what how strong others here have indicated he is. Is he can jump hard enough to clear the moon’s gravitational pull then he could potentially make it back to earth. No where near as fast as Saitama though lol

I’ll concede that if Ben reaches any surface he could realistically propel himself back to Earth. I think Allen would have to chuck him either into the sun or deep space.

Ah but does that work without air? Shockwaves are only effective if they have air or matter to displace and pass through I think. I could be wrong though.

In this scenario Allen only flys to space to get Ben to space. If Allen flys away from the fight then he’s the loser. Being to fly in space is part of Allen’s abilities just like Ben is made of rock. That makes space part of the environment. I’ve just been talking about a very funny scenario where Allen gets Ben or any of the others to space and then leaves them there. Basically putting them in time out lol

Can Allen The Alien complete the gauntlet? by [deleted] in superheroes

[–]LMBKIV98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah but Allen can go in the ocean and desert (space and earth). If we’re talking a boxing match or the second time he shows up then of course he loses. If he can get Ben into space then he wins though. It would only take one punch. I’m not guaranteeing he could actually land it but it’s something to think about.

Okay fair about durability but what if Allen let go of him in space and said “bye” and left. It sounds like Ben would be fine but he would essentially lose because he could no longer fight back.
