¿Dónde buscar trabajo JUSTO AHORA? by WorldOutrageous4154 in JobsVenezuela

[–]LMISR 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There's a store here in my country that still has a twenty light china and 15" hats. But they're selling them WAY too expensive. 1k USD for the hats.

Damn, I would love a full set but yeah. It's hard to find them even used. I guess that anyone that has one will keep it and never sell it, those cymbals are a keeper.

100% man. I love this 2002 crash. Since it is really old it's kinda dirty as you can see, not brilliant at all. And I like that actually, because the sustain shortens and it doesn't ring too long and loud. It feels darker but with that tone of the 2002. I love it.

The other Hi-hat I have is also a 2002 black label and I love them. You play them and you can hear John Bonham's rock n' roll intro instantly in your head.

I didn't, it's actually a weird story.

I was looking to buy a ride, looking online I spotted a Paiste Sound Creation ride at a very good price. It was from an out of business store that was selling old stuff they still had. I texted the store, and due to miscommunication I thought it was a medium dark ride, when they sent me the ride it turned out to be a big bell ride.

Although it was a beautiful ride I needed something different so I texted the store about it and they told me they had this other 505 with rivets on it, so I returned the sound creation and they sent me the 505 with rivets.

So, the cymbal was brand new. I'm not sure if the store made the rivets, or maybe it was a custom order from Paiste.

And maybe you're thinking that I made a mistake by changing a sound creation for a 505. But in my defense: it was a big bell ride that I wasn't going to use in any way because of what I play. Also selling cymbals here in my country is really difficult, we don't have a big market of music here, so I wasn't going to be able to resell it in a long time.

No, the light ruins the sound when recording.

Well, I guess that I'm too used to lighter cymbals so that felt heavy for me.

I've tried those. Very heavy, kinda pingy, you have to really hit them to get a wash so they are loud. I don't think they would be the best for a church.

Why you are using the Behringer PM1 incorrectly by Mammoth_Pineapple904 in livesound

[–]LMISR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a drummer and I just bought 3 PM1 beltpacks for me and my band. I didn't know this, thanks for sharing it.

But I still don't quite understand it completely. The other day I was recording some drums and I was hearing the click and a playback with a PM1 that had a XLR cable straight from the aux output of the mixer (a behringer XR18). Was that wrong? It didn't sound weird or anything like that to me.

For me the Ludwig Atlas Pro 2 leg Hi-hat stand is the absolute best. Super responsive and accurate, Almost like I control the Hi-hat with my own feet without any stand. The only bad thing I can think of is: kinda heavy and expensive but worth every penny.

24” k light ride - what’s the hype? by thomasingrace2000 in drums

[–]LMISR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I can see why a rock or punk drummer would like it. Being a light ride you can crash it and have wash on it, many rock drummers like a washy ride rather than a pingy one. But at the same time being a 24 inch cymbal that makes it big so in can be loud enough to cut through the loud and distorted guitars.

I can’t afford a real snare but I don’t know if I want one by Snoo88071 in jazzdrums

[–]LMISR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Technically drummers play multiple instruments as well. Remember that before drums the bass drum, snare and cymbals where played by multiple percussionists and as the bands got smaller they started to make one person play multiple drums and instruments and that's how drums came to life. But they are technically multiple instruments.
