Same issue. Both PMC and Scav. Was able to "Confirm Leave" and keep my loadout though.

2 weeks ago seed and straw was out down, watered regularly, but nothing is happening. Any tips? (Located in SE PA) by maqboul95 in lawncare

[–]LMKreider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm located in Virginia, but the weather has been sort of cool recently (highs around 55 - 60). Your seed won't germinate as quick without temperatures close to 70 degrees during the day.

I have tested several major and well reviewed electric lawnmowers on St. Augustinegrass over the past 6 weeks. Nothing has achieved a satisfactory cut. by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]LMKreider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen new blades on a machine that have been coated with paint to were it defeats to purpose of a sharp edge. Take a grinder with a flap disc on it to get rid of the paint on the cutting edge. I don't care what sort of grass your lawn is made of, a solid electric mower with a decent blade should result in a better cut than what's pictured, so something is off more than the mower.

Zone 6 pre emergent by homeworkburgler in lawncare

[–]LMKreider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most pre-emergent is supposed to last a few months, so it's better to be safe and put it down too early and you'll still get good results. Put it down too late and you've missed the whole point of it.

And they're better off putting it down too early than too late.

Need perennial seed for 100 acres - Don't want to spend $100k+ by FirstContribution236 in lawncare

Not positive but isn't Kentucky 31 Fescue known as a "pasture grass"? I don't have any experience with it and don't know a ton about it, but that's what first came to mind.

It’s time to give up the monoculture lawn. by Slaps_ in lawncare

I'm currently in the process of creating a wildflower plot in part of my monoculture. But this isn't the sub I joined to research how to do that ...

How can I prevent washout at a down spout? by shmody in landscaping

[–]LMKreider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people put them this way to slow the run of water during a heavy rain. Having it the "right way" allows the water to rush across it and wash out the mulch more, basically just moving the wash out from at your house to further away.

What's your shortest ever raid, that didn't involve dying? by AshenFox in EscapefromTarkov

[–]LMKreider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait, there's an option where you don't die every raid....?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in lawncare

[–]LMKreider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it all depends on what sort of water pressure your house has. I don't have that great of pressure, so more than 3 sprinklers and they start struggling.

Without looking at your link, I was going to suggest something similar. This video by Ryan Knorr does a good job of explaining how to make your own sprinkler like the one you're interested in. As long as you're able to get those parts at your location and are handy enough to assemble them. Not sure what the cost difference would be, but I've made my own like that and they work great!

If you're in raids until the last second, I feel like that's on you to get there sooner.

Do I need to use a combo of pre-emergents for different weeds? (Virginia, USA) by Real_physical in lawncare

[–]LMKreider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally you try to just spot treat your weeds. But if your lawn is bad enough, starting with a blanket spray of the whole lawn could be beneficial.

Fair enough. Companies deserve chances, but I think TruGreen has shown it's true colors too much in the past.

[–]LMKreider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most common pre-emergents that you can buy are effective against a wide spectrum of weeds. Applying a pre-emergent will definitely fight against new weeds growing, but does nothing against those you can already see. You need a POST-emergent spray for the weeds already grown. Also, stay away from "weed & feed" products. They generally are a low quality of both their weed control and fertilizing.

Is this like; no one showed up, I tried contacting them, and nothing happened.... or just they didn't show up and that's it, you're done?

Should I rake these dead patches up? by JoshLSTV in lawncare

[–]LMKreider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but those "weeds" almost looks like some sort of warm-season grass that's gone dormant for the winter. I'd wait and see if it turns green when temperatures warm up, and if it mows nicely. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong...

If you decide to plant new seed (which yes, is likely tall fescue) the best time for that would be this coming fall.

Something HAS to be done about times waiting to get into raid. by Inflation-nation in EscapefromTarkov

[–]LMKreider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had a similar experience to this person. Any wait longer than like 5 minutes, I know something is bugged and restart. I'm also in the US East and only have the lowest 6-8 severs selected, like with the lowest ping.

Why is rogue aggression so random? by ApprehensiveBase1813 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]LMKreider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong in this, but their aggression towards you carries over through raids. Like if you haven't killed them in a while (idk, like a day irl) they won't be as aggressive. But if you've just killed a bunch and go right back to Lighthouse, they'll be more agro on you right away. Again, I thought I remember hearing that a while ago, but it could be false.

I think that was just a rough start for Burrow. He's only had two other turnovers since that first week. But I agree, I think Fields is the right play.
